Singles spar tournament, now is the time.
 

Now that the seasonal leader board for sparring has been split in half and only 50 spots remain on the board why not use it for seeding for a singles tournament? This could easily be done and would take little effort to pull off.

For prizes maybe a hat, some sort of trophy or even a belt and maybe even a statue outside the mixed room. The community has wanted this for a long time and with this new leader board why not have this take place between gsts!

• First round could be best of 1
• Second round could be best of 3
• Quarterfinals could be best of 5
• Semi finals could be best of 5
• And the Grand final could be best of 10

Anyone whose location has changed within 2 hours before the tournament could be disqualified and anyone whose location during the tournaments location changes could be disqualified.

This would give top tier sparrers an incentive to spar more actively and accumulate points rather then stay inactive for 3 months whilst waiting for a gst, this would make sparring even more competitive which is great for the activity and the server.

Thoughts? I'd love to hear Dusty, fp4 and Rufus' honest and detailed opinions on how this could play out because a singles tournament is long overdue.

This is needed, and with the points system it would be fun to see sparrers who somehow miraculously get a tonne of points - yet we never see them - in the tournament for obvious reasons.

If this was done it would be nice to have 32 spots seeded from the leaderboard, and another 32 spots selected via some sort of QuickTourney like qualifier.

I agree entirely with the 2nd part.

Can't really waste away sparring while school is in session but I know I'd qualify to participate based on the 2nd part.

You think it's bad facing the delayer squad in GST wait till you have to face them individually :D:love:

The only reason I would want to see it is to see the hate/bashing coming from the non-winners.

The guy has a point. People going to rage more when they can't push up as 5 and it actually works. Roll the cameras.
