Not a lot of businesses hiring children though, so the experience they gain from working as game devs for a company is good for their future job applications.

you dont have to be supergood to work for a paid job as gfx, you can set up a portfolio anytime and look for work in specific forums, even gaining experience should be rewarded

all those unpaid internships are a joke

if you want a job in the (light) pixel industry, go to pixeljoint.com or wayofthepixel.net and create a portfolio thread or look at the [PAID] subtitle threads in the job section and apply properly

if one wants to do it for free and purely as a hobby and not bother going through this proper application process, then let it be

i dont suggest to invest too much time into it (unpaid work) if your education is endangered though, or if you dont have a job and just do it to keep your hopes up in becoming a super professional


my reliability drops to 10% (very much reasonable) if:

its unpaid

the environment isnt professional enough


so even if someone offered me enough money, i wouldnt work if the professionality, maturity and workethic wasnt optimal



to the arguement stated above that staffs earn their own gralats and have to spend to get stuff is okay too i think

if you work in a supermarket, do you think you can just grab all things you want and get it for free?

its educationally important to teach children on this game (ongoing staffs) that you cant just get everything for free and you have to do something to get it, even if it is your own item that you created

if you invented something in real life, youd still have to pay for the materials to create it
