Borderlands 1
 

So i bought borderlands: handsome collection on my xbone in black friday sales, but i was wondering if i should get borderlands 1? Is 1 necessary for the storyline? Because from what i've heard the borderlands 1 story wasn't "that great".

(Yes i know its not on xbone, but i still have my 360 aswell.)

Personally found the first storyline to be really good, really enjoyed Borderlands 1

It's a separate story from BL2 with separate characters, but you'd have a much better time if you played no.1 first (atleast through the first playthrough)

There are some hidden goodie goods (and a plot twist) for those who followed the first Borderlands story, but it isn't required at all. After playing Borderlands 2 it is hard to go back to 1 so I probably wouldn't recommend it unless you absolutely want to.

Borderlands 2 was my first game I got for the PS3.

Amazing replay content and really interesting and HILARIOUS storyline.

I feel its the best of the trilogy.

I am currently loving bl2 after only just completing boombewm boss, and really i wouldn't want to disappoint myself. I shall probably just get it if i see it pre-owned or at a car boot.

Borderlands 1 is dirt cheap, so you can't go wrong.

Probably played borderlands games for over 1k hrs and can confirm they are amazing. Borderlands 1 will feel very dated if you play the second game first but for sure worth at least one playthrough. However the second game has tons of content and can easily be played for a long time if you like going after legendaries and such

Another thing i'd like to know is how do you farm bosses? Do you just go to where they spawn like every other enemy?

First or second game? Typically you kill the boss once then save and exit

Second (And pre-sequel)

Haven't played the Pre-Sequel but from what I remember in 2 was that you had to go to the boss area, save your game and then fight the boss.

If he didn't drop anything good you exit the game, restart from the save and do it all over again.

Had some really nice memories grinding for the Maggie...

Well i just went back to boombewm spawn and i just killed them again.

Also i got some grenade launcher from some midget riding a ice monster thing. Its pretty useful and its yellow.

Yeah the second game revolves around farming legendaries late game but dont worry about that at the start its really casual and fun to screw around with every gun you find :P

Yeah random enemies will sometimes drop legendary stuff but its super rare for that to happen.

I remember killing a loot midget and getting a Slagga from it.

But unfortunately it was level 15 or something so it didn't stay too useful for long.

Honestly, if you really want to get the most out of legendary weapons, complete the main storyline and get to max rank then go farming for legendaries.
