It has nothing to do with religion. Crazy people will do crazy things regardless of what religion they are.

If one American does something stupid and says it's for their country you wouldn't go and blame it on all of America. In the same way just because a select few "religious" people think it's ok to kill innocent people doesn't mean you should just blame it on religion.

Actually, it does. What they're doing is grabbing any weapon they can find and slapping the word "Islam" on it and then doing all of these bad things.

I like to think that they're going back in time to when religion was much crueler than it is today.

actually what they are doing literally has everything to do with religion

it's just extremists (terrorists) using Religion as an excuse for what they do imo..

They think they fight for the islam yet the quran doesn't approve of any of their actions.
They are brainwashed people who think they're doing good for what they supposedly believe in

To answer the question is not about religion. Not entirely. I can get a burrito and say that's its for my rebellion against all religion because for me to be part of my own religion(join my cult k) I need to be alive. Doesn't mean it's because I'm anti religious...

It's primarily because of how they're beliefs dislike the current changes happening in the world. In order to make peace with this, they attempt to rid certain things as they are incapable of acceptance.

It's not as much religious as it is fear.

They're doing the same thing Hitler did, acting upon fear, grouping around pathos.

I blame it on mentally unstable people who claim they speak for religion when reality, what they say has literally nothing to do with their religion and contradicts it in multiple ways.

They then rally people together using hate-speech and the promise of power and religious righteousness so they can manipulate people into doing absolutely horrible things.

But if I remember correctly, ISIS's main goal was to establish their own extreme-Muslim nation between Syria and some other country where they can practice super serious Muslim tradition.

Of course, many people in the Middle East are becoming more progressive and are straying from the old tradition where men's roles are pretty much omnipotent and women are just maids and baby-makers.

Because of this, ISIS's only option is to force their tradition on those they "conquer" weather they like it or not.

Anyone who defy them is imprisoned or worse.

Race, religion, political ideology... Humans are bred to hate what is different from themselves.
