School Motivation
 

So basically I get home and can't be bothered to do my homework. I want to but I get bored and lose focus so easily.
Any advice to get motivated to do work?

Well... I like to turn my internet off and remove phone/laptop-anything that could easily distract me.This kinda makes me want to work its hard, but at least I can get work done.

Well it depends... Do you get good grades? Does your homework actually count towards grades that much or would you be able to get away with not doing it?
I went through highschool without ever making homework except for special projects yet still having good grades on my exam, not saying it's smart but it's possible with the right situations.

Right now I'm in college and homework is a bit annoying but since I'm now learning what I want to learn it's not that bad and I don't have trouble making it.

Highscool homework will always be boring and stupid yet you have to do it either way to get rid of it. Music tends to help me focus though so that might help you too

As Bubble said, I listen to music when I'm doing my college hw. It helps me stay focused. I just don't put the volume too high as I get distracted if I do that. I also take breaks from time to time. I can't do all my HW in one sitting so I often take a 30-min break doing whatever.

If there's anything you want to do in the future put that on your mind.

Tell yourself "I won't make it to x if I don't get good grades now."

Thanks everyone and yes I usually try my best to get good grades but a lazy phase has come over me. I've got a scholarship to quite a nice school and I really don't want to lose it.

I've grown a mentality that I just simply can't play games or watch TV unless ive finished doing housework - then I can chill and not worry about it

Well, first off, you should set a desired time for homework. Maybe right after you come home from school? I cook up a little meal and do my hw right when I come home from school. If it helps,c you can maybe afk in a game while doing hw. And besides, think about your future. You do better in the subject or w/e and maybe have a good job with good pay. Believe me, I fkin h8 hw man. Like, when I get home from school, it's the one time in the day where I can get away from school and hw just makes me feel like I'm back in school. But develop the hw habits right now. Trust me, it will benefit you.

if u have free period, do it. or stay at a classroom and do it.

Some people like to listen to music when they do work or study, for me I get too distracted by that.

But yeah basically what Simons said, I used to always try and do my homework at school whenever I could find a free period.

Also I never really had trouble understanding and doing homework so most of the time I would procrastinate, definitely not a good thing to do but if you can handle it then I guess it's not a horrible thing to do. But again I would not recommend it.
