Auto d/c

Just an idea to reduce the number of players online so the game would run a bit smoother, maybe a system that can auto disconnect players who have no activity for 15 minutes straight so there are less afk people. :)

?? u dont get disconnected after 15 min?

Sardon 09-06-2015 03:15 AM

30 min

Liz 09-06-2015 03:15 AM

I have seen people who leave spare accounts online to advertise code shops before 24 hours a day :(

It's supposed to, but it immediately reconnects them. There is supposed to be a way to disable that but it doesn't seem to work.

This is basically what I was thinking too. I don't think that fixing this would be too hard, though. Seems like a simple fix in my mind but I don't know exactly what's making it reconnect, so I don't know. I think that this should be a pretty high priority issue though, as it seems that there are a lot of people who are AFK taking up space on the server which = more lag. I mean, there isn't really any point to have AFK players on the server, and most online games do have a system where it disconnects AFK players after 5 minutes or so, so I don't really see a point why Graal doesn't have it.

EDIT: What I'm thinking is that Graal makes it so that when you have the app open and your account is open, it connects to the server automatically (Like, any account that's on the app will be connected to the server right away and simply disconnecting the account just makes it seem like you're first opening the app, so it just repeats the process over and over again.) You could have it so that when your account gets disconnected, it flags the account so that it doesn't connect to the game like this, until you click the button. Once you click the button, it connects you to the server. Perhaps something more important for the future could be to have a username and password system where you enter your credentials and then it connects you to the server, so then when you're disconnected it brings you back to the login screen and you have to reenter your credentials to connect to the server again. I feel like adding a username and password system could be pretty beneficial for when the future comes and we've got more players, but of course this isn't for me to decide; it's just my opinion.

I really like the idea of a login username and password system, but I think account sharing would increase, and more complaints would pop up. But it's way more convenient instead of identifying on every computer or phone, say you're at a friends house and want to check your account without having to bring your own phone or checking your email to log in and revoking access after, considering your friend also has a graal account and you don't want to have linked accounts.

I understand this, but there really isn't a point of making account sharing such a bad thing anyway. I get that if you share your account with someone and they do something bad to get you banned, you're going to be super pissed and you're going to submit millions of tickets about how "you didn't do it." But all the admins have to do is check the logs and see that you logged on from two different IPs in the past 24 hours and one is from Canada while the other is from China, for example. Plus, it was your choice in the first place to give someone your username and password, so technically, yes, you were the one who did something to get yourself banned because you put your trust in someone that you shouldn't have. If you want to account share, then go ahead, Graal isn't accountable for what either person does on the account that makes the other person angry. Tickets are for legitimate ban appeals, they're not going to psychologists that are going to help you fix all your emotional problems. Anyway, yes, a working disconnection system is definitely needed as soon as possible.

If we can't disconnect them lets serverwarp all these nubs to another server.

Uh..Imo:TWOM doesn't have auto-disconnect, instead, you disconnect when you lag REALLY REALLY badly. But Graal does need this. o:
Imo also has mutiple servers to keep lag away, 'cause there is a big playerbase.0-0

Tayzrx 09-06-2015 06:30 AM

If a lag is your concern then maybe its your own issue. There is no way people who afk actually cause much damage since most of them are using iDevices and Graal drains a lot of battery power. Their phone wouldn't be able to last. The further your iDevice is updated, maybe the less likely it will lag or maybe your connection is bad. I know for my iPad, it runs smooth 24/7!

*leaves device plugged in*
*leaves the tab up on PC for a decade and comes back to the same spot*

Thallen 09-06-2015 06:51 AM

Yeah, I actually never understood why this wasn't fixed. If I properly understand the way that Graal allocates memory per each player, then I can see how this working correctly would greatly reduce server lag.

Mio 09-06-2015 07:32 AM

I prefer 5 minutes, since the player count is a bit high.

Livid 09-06-2015 09:42 AM

With this we can play without much lag
