Anyone here play Rocket League? This game is really fun and I've been pretty addicted so far.

Here is a small trailer just to give an idea what the game is about. It's pretty much football (or soccer) with cars.


It's currently free for PS+ subscribers and also available for PC ($20).

I really want to but £15 doesn't cut it for me, if it was below 10 i'd give it a go

its worth it yo, 100% so ****ing worth. Like you have no idea how worth it is. You gotta get it, best 20$ spent on a game.

Have it for PC, such an extremely fun game. I'd have paid $30 for this, it's worth it.

It's really fun to watch. I hope this becomes the next big esport because holy cow it's a fun game.

What kind of other games would be worthy of becoming an eSport?

Literally every eSport that is well known is a MOBA, which isn't even friendly to people who don't play MOBA games. Compared to sports like Soccer, it's somewhat difficult to understand and associate with the players.

My mind has changed in the past 6 hours. I really want this game now

An esport needs what a normal sport needs to be a sport.
To be a sport it needs at least 2 of these traits

Cheap and accessible (this is why sports like football are around. Same goes for things like league of lengends or DOTA2)

A large fan base (dont matter how crappy, if it has a large fanbase it will make money and therefore be successful)

Very fun to play even though its boring to watch (baseball is not fun to watch but it's very fun to play, esport mirror of this is smash 4).

Rocket leauge has 2 of the 3 needed.

Counter-Strike and Hearthstone have really been picking up steam lately. Heroes of the Storm could become one of the bigger ones, it's a great spectator sport.

I do think it has the potential to become big for eSport. The game is relatively simple but there is so much depth & cool techniques that makes it enjoyable to watch in my opinion.

Looks nice, but $20 seems like a bit much for such a simple game. I'll wait for it to go on sale.

just bought it and played 2 hours, well worth it

friend gifted this to me on Steam for my birthday, game is super fun and has a very high skill cap
anyone can pick it up and play it and have fun but there's a high ceiling, doesn't require any grind and there's no progression other than skill

Yeah it's a really good game, very easy to start up and play, and the matches are guaranteed 5 minutes max so even if you gotta go in 15 you can fire up a game. Hit me up if anyone wants to play, it's alot more fun with friends.
