Option to go into "Spectator Mode"
 

Purposes:

1. Useful when not wanting to be actively playing, but still watch what's going on.
2. This could kick in automatically when a player is idling for a certain amount of time.
3. It could be built in such a manner that, if used, could drastically reduce lag (i.e. you don't need to broadcast a spectator's character attributes to everyone else in the level, and UDP could be resurrected specifically to broadcast non-spectator characters to spectators).

Of course this isn't going to go anywhere because Stefan's gone and who knows who's working on the client now.

This would work well in the GST :)

@Sardon: This shouldn't cost anything to the player because it should in turn reduce the cost of operating the servers.

@Crono: I wasn't around for the spectator mode on PC Graal, though I here it sucked, and even heard it affected Lifetime Classic accounts (which would affect me if I ever logged in again). Shouldn't be a "spooky ghost," but simply a camera mode.

Unfortunately nobody copied my camera modes for 2k6+ Classic, which means your camera gets stuck to edges instead of having its own edge detection.

Your lifetime classic account should be safe, last time I turned into one was back when I didn't even have p2p and Graal decided to go full ******. :D

make it a vip item on vip island that you need a vip morph to get into a vip shop so you can buy it for 5k

The spectator mode item, I think should be given to players through a quest. Scarf quest continue or zorbi quest or gnomes whatever more quests more useful items. Go for it

It's not revenue, but it could increase profit margins.

Spectate is good in spar, like when you sit on the chair and your screen is auto scrolled to the center of the spar ring. What else would you need 'spectating' for other than creeping random kids?
