Reasons for lag?
 

Might sound like a dumb question but im wondering the reason for such high lag on classic. Is the main reason really because too many people online? I am wondering does the high amount of uploads on classic contribute to the lag, because when i look at era or other graal servers, the lags are significantly lower while they have much less uploads. If so, how much lags do the uploads add to the server?

I don't think uploading adds much lag to the server, and Era probably has more uploads than Classic given it has a higher thug player count who insists on styling their characters to look like mad gangster so if they don't lag from it then Classic wouldn't. (although GIFs may possible add a bit of lag - but you can disable it)

Majority of it depends on the player count, the higher the player count the higher the lag, which happens because of the server hosting that management hasn't been too keen on upgrading. Your own personal setup can also play a role in the amount of lag you experience.

i believe gif uploads to contribute to lag as one of the reason 1k gif hats ( I believe ) is because too many people began to get them and therefore they stopped them to prevent too many on the server, even if it does not contribute a lot it probably still does over all

To reduce lag and freezing on classic u can do a lot of things such as turn gif , weather , indicators or names and chat off which can greatly reduce lag.
However delay on the other hand is a lot different to fix as it matters on your location , our broadband speed and the server signal back speed. The further U are from the server the further the signal had to be sent and take longer , although You can speed your own speed up by paying more and more for ur internet the servers speed is constant meaning it will always be at that rate unless graal owner decides to upgrade servers.

If I'm not mistakes there was a post not long ago saying that server upgrades where possibly going I happen near the future however we never know when that might be

We received a message from guru bomber last winter saying the server would be updating and we would be disconected for a few minutes When Going back online I thaught something crazy happened like graal city changed or the tilesets but it was nothing visible I checked the overworld and found no difference but maybe it was a server upgrade
because the old version wouldnt be able to hold 4k without exploding

Yes, the largest reason for server-side lag is because of the large number of people online.
No, graphics dont exactly cause lag, but the large number of graphics that are downloaded to your device can slow down the app. In that respect, 1k hats have nothing to do with it; its the custom heads. The last time I looked into my iPhone, there were over 15,000 head files, compared to about 300-500 images in each shield/sword/hat/body folder.

When im talking about uploads, it also includes the shield and sword uploads. Well ofc era and other servers dont have sword, but i also dont see many shield uploads.
