Guild unity hats?

I would like to see less turnover in guild membership. Maybe a reward for if your guild members stay together?

More explanation please

Basically let's say a guild held the same members for a year without kicking or recruiting more and those members were loyal on tag he thinks that should earn them a hat of some sorts to represent the unity they share.

I am not saying the time has to be a year or anything though, just the number I chose to use for the example.

Sardon 03-14-2015 01:57 AM

Or a certain amount of guild members keeping the same tag on for a year

More explanation please

An arbitrary incentive for an arbitrary measure that the community and developers believe is a good measure of guild unity in order to promote permanency of guilds. Hats are a typical incentive. Meanwhile, I would leave the incentive and measure up for debate. Along with a hat for incentive, I would cite the turnover rate of recruits as what I believe would be a reasonable measure.

Thallen 03-14-2015 02:18 AM

needs to be some sort of context to guild activity, otherwise this is just "sit on a dead tag for a year and hatch a hat"
which I'm sure everyone would absolutely love, because the actual quality of guilds on iClassic is a joke

so much needs to be done to the guild system to promote activity, loyalty, and a more honest representation of where your guild stands

Well TEH combined hours of keeping set tag on fixed group of guildies, tower hours and GS score meeting some kind of bar would be worth a BA gif hat i think

So you'd exclude RP and family guilds?

The quality of your guilds is a joke because you have formed them with hat chasers and hoarders.

Because you see us all the time wearing the hats we win. Who cares about the win, just the hat right? At this point you people are just making things up to try and discredit people. Please stop, for your sake, it doesn't make you look intelligent.

Yay another "bash the old man thread" subscribed :P. Let the old man alone, he's senile, in his mind us and alumni are the only "respectable/real" guilds on classic. And he only includes us because rufus is his daddy. :D. Fulgore was starting to agree with me, so I must put an end to that nonsense.

OT: Classic doesn't care about guild loyalty. People have brought up ways to try to promote it, but nothing gets done. Limiting people to one guild ownership and one guild as a member was a good point that was brought up, but guild purchase money is good business.

Agree with this part still, you only half succeeded.

Just to let you know, it is how I truly feel completely and truly. Thallen has admitted to using hat chasers to advantage and not seeing the point past 5k in past threads.

This means the players who are in his "guilds" are just doing it to milk the system and disregard respect, honor, and reputation. It is Thallens choice to have guilds that are that way, and my disagreement with the matter doesn't mean it should be against the rules. However, this is why the guild quality of guilds for Thallen is a joke.

My experience of "non hat guilds" on classic has been mostly a good one. Especially when it came to my own guild, I created a level of respect everybody upheld and I actually viewed my members as friends rather than people I command. It was awesome. Immense trust in which i could give leadership to most of the perms and they would be responsible with it until I could take it again. So many inside jokes..

wolfgirl would always be typing out entire song lyrics and everyone woul yell "WOLFY!".

Or how Pharoah would pull random amazing guild pictures out of nowehere and we all loved him for it. And then he turned into a shiny admin after we were done.

Or bin for being mysterious and hated by all of Graal but actually he was such a mute badass that we all loved! He quit Voyage one time and everyone in the guild switched to his black ninja outfit and we protested taking towers until he rejoined. And then NAL (an enemy guild) formed an "anti-bin" army of white ninja outfits and it was the most epic war of Yorktown to have ever taken place.

Or Masrules who would know literally everything about pokemon and be an awesome and friendly person to talk to.

Or toby who had to quit graal early before our retirement due to real life issues but we waited and waited for him to return because he made such an impact and he finally showed up one day to congratulate us!

Or Banes who had some anger issues and they turned him literally into a part time drill sergent which was actually really beneficial for the guild so he ended up being promoted and eventually he got himself all tied up in the love xD

Or eternalvoid who was that ONE BLACK KID, and whenever a racist joke on guild chat popped up he would tell someone off xD.

Or buu who was one of the "pros" in the guild with 50k+ kills and he made even the leader look like a noob xD But his humble attitude made him a great friend of us.

Or zen who led Voyages spar division up to GST in "focus" a number of times having moderate success! The whole guild cheering them on!

And most importantly... Nic. Who joined the guild as a complete noob before we even had 5 hours and stuck by my side all the way to this day. He also was prior friends with Fez, another long term and trustable perm. Even after retirement and most of us quitting he has stayed in touch with me. A great co-lead and comfortable person to be around.

Even some guilds... when we rivaled Cruxis Evolution (which was all of my old guild, cruxis).
Or SoN, when they were not a superpower we rivaled them for hours on a daily basis.
I could actually go on and on. So thats the difference between a guild built on hats and a guild built on friends. I know my experiences are not a "joke". Thallens guild experience can be a "joke" because he has earned it. But I know my experiences were great and full of longtime friendship.
