Idea for the "crappy" hat situation in classic.
 

Before you continue reading I must let you know this is one of those UFOBuran type ideas.


I know that a majority of the times when someone says a hat "sucks" it's because they just don't like it and has nothing to do with the quality of the work. But lets be honest there are some hats that look extremely low quality(example the GoPro cam hat).


My suggestion is to have a monthly/bi-monthly/quarterly/when there's time for a "fix this hat" competition in which a hat is brought up and the community tries to do a better version. It's a win win situation. The server gets a nicer hat and the community has some fun doing it.


I know now that Dusty and Coco quit it might be hard, but just wanted to let it off my chest.

Yeah tons of ugly hats make the decent ones look good.
And the crappy looking ones are usually half the price of the ones some one put effort into.

Just sayin...

if there are people good enough to make quality hats that are willing to make quality hats, then why would we not already have quality hats

(Time) constraints. Not everyone in the community is 14-years-old and practically responsibility free.

Majority of the time the hats are a quality standard we can be proud of, it's just that what people think is a 'good hat' is entirely subjective

It is entirely your own opinion on what you think is a "quality" hat, so even if there was a hat that I thought was good quality, there will always be someone who thinks it looks "crappy".

I agree with the statement, but there are exceptions.
