PC shuts down while Gaming :/
Idk why but my pc shuts down while gaming.i bought the rig for Watching movies and stuff but ended up gaming on it a little.
SPECS: CPU:Intel cor2duo 2.66Ghz GFX:GT610 Leadtek RAM:2GBs ddr3 PSU:Stock PSU 240W Case:Stock Case The pc would shut down after 10mins of gaming. Some peeps told me that it was the PSU.it wasnt desgined to handle noth a CPU and a GPU.my CPU was overclocked to 3.4Ghz which i then "down"clocked? To the stock settings.if the PSu was the issue then if i would plug out the keyboard and mouse cords and the gpu would fix the issue..but no success.the damned CPU started giving me those red Bleep errors.it was 6 red bleeps which ment that the ram was an issue.took out the rams(4x 512mbs) and left it with a 512mb stick... no success.the pc wont turn on.i cleaned the pc with a vaccume cleaner in case the dust built up was disturbing the air flow.still no success. BTW my pc would show high temps of about 60 to 70° while doing nothing and would rise up to 103°C when gaming. Pls advice. |
You need to make sure everything is plugged in. If you seem a cord not connected into anything you need to FIND WHERE IT GOES and then plug it in. It will probably plug into either 1) A wall outlet, 2) The computer, or 3) The monitor.
...Did that solution not work? You need to make sure there is a game inserted into the game tray. You also need to make sure you are launching the game. ...Did that solution not work? You need to make sure you are actually using a computer. Are your cables plugged into 1: A potato 2: A computer 3: A potato If you answered 1, or 3, then you need to look into getting into the possession of a computer. Did I help you correctly satisfy all your questions and concerns? |

Build a new computer if you want to seriously play games.
|
I was planning to do the same thing.
Core i3 with a GTX7xx or maybe a GTX6xx.depends...and a 4GBs of DDR3 RAM. as for the PSU,a 450W...segagate probably. Some ATX case....i would prefer some Stock Mobo as i dnt know much about them. (Idc about mobo or the case.) |
Your PC is overheating. Try not to use it for anything intensive, it'll be a fire hazard. The solution would most likely be to install more fans and cooling systems. You might need a better PSU for that, though. Also it might cost a bit of a pretty penny.

After a bit of Tomshardware and game-debate... i concluded that i have a weak PSU.the Stock PSU had enough juice to run the CPU...not the GPU too... ill just have a ew rig.i might sell this one or maybe keep its parts for a future build.

Wait what games are you trying to play?

Sounds like your fan(s) are dead on your CPU or GPU. Take the side off while it's on and investigate.

A dead Mobo maybe? Quote:

I had this problem with my old computer/laptop I suggest changing your laptop battery and having your laptop fan fixed... and you should also buy a laptop cooler/fan...
I suggest buying a laptop fan with 2 fans which run very fast if your laptop fans on ur cpu and gpu are dead as said by fp4... or change your laptop. |

His PSU is only 240W, that's really low and probably of questionable quality too :0 Nice try though ;) .. |
i just taught he had a laptop cause it wouldnt happen on a desktop laptop...
