Indicators for Players defending a Fort

Just an idea; I sometimes PK with nicknames off to reduce lag slightly, and I feel that there should be indicators showing which players are defending the fort, so you know who is going to get annoyed if you hit the flag, and who else is PKing.

Thoughts?

Might be useful, but could get confusing seeing as though we already have indicators for friends, guild members, and guild allies... Sometimes these old eyes don't differentiate so well, though :P

Sounds possible.

Maybe a small shield icon below the avatar for defender, and a small sword icon for attacker

Basically I can only mark those who AREN'T guildmates or guild allies. It seems like it'd be more useful to only see enemies as those are the people you want to target, rather than your allies.

Would get pretty cluttered on the screen in mass pking

But this isn't for PKing...

But this isn't for PKing...

it kind of is, indirectly
a good number of players PK at towers, specifically the hallways at Sardon's and the top of MoD

might be a good idea to expand on indicators overall if you decide to do this, as in have checkbox options to display which indicators you want to see: staff, friends, guildmates, guild allies, tower holders, maybe even add one for blocked players, I dunno

or, if you coded it so that the indicators are only visible at the flag level (rather than every level of the tower), it wouldn't cause as much of a problem - people still PK at the flag around MoD and York, but it'd probably be fine

Reasonable to have indicators for defenders but for attackers? Obviously whoever doesn't have an indicator for a defender would be an attacker. It would get too cluttered.

Also how would subs work? Would allies count as defenders? Would they have two indicators? It sounds a bit confusing.

He's implying "mass PKing" which happens outside of Graal City. That sort of thing doesn't happen in towers, does it?

Why would it make sense for you to see indicators for defenders but not attackers? Of course, this is all a bit confusing when attacking/defending is a contextual set of words. If you own the tower you are defending, therefor imo it is more important you see attackers. However if you don't own the tower you are attackers, and therefor it makes more sense for you to see defenders.

In the context of my statements, I am talking from the perspective of a tower owner. Basically I'm saying you'd have indicators for everyone that is not your guild/allied; ie: people you should be attacking.

There are multiple guilds attacking, so I feel like you would just pk anyone that doesn't have an indicator on their head. It's useless to have everyone with an indicator, it would get cluttered and confusing. It makes more sense to have a single guild with indicators rather than EVERYONE with indicators

Mizochi 12-22-2014 09:00 PM

She* and I was saying towers still get pretty cluttered regardless when mass pks happen. ex. sards halls and mod like thall said

Dusty 12-22-2014 09:16 PM

Well I am getting mixed signals here and it's confusing me.

I suggest indicators for everyone not allied(ie targets) and no one wants it. Then it's implied indicators for guildmates/allies, but don't they already have indicators?

Thallen 12-22-2014 09:33 PM

I think what they are asking is basically:
For players who are not in the guild (or its allies) that currently holds the tower, display an indicator over the head of the players in the guild (and its allies) that is currently holding the tower.

That way, they can differentiate the guild, and allies, defending the tower from PKers and other guilds that are attacking them.
