I have some suggestions for ol west to make it a bit more fun and involving to players. Some of these might be planned for the future but I'm not psychic so idk. So, I think there must be a baddy killing system, what's the point of them besides an annoyance if there isn't? Pk store obviously hands down. Make sellables sell for more too hard to make cash. Get more into the cowboy vs Indian aspect pls!! I really like the idea but it's not doing anything with it they annoys me. Give Indians equal shops to cowboys, the cowboy areas weapons are sooooooo much more op then the Indians. The Indians can buy them but that kills the aspect of cowboys vs Indians, make it so if your using a item from your faction you get like a 1 damage boost and if your not its -1 damage.
If anyone else has some cool ideas please write them down!! |
Cool ideas, Ryjofa. I also have cool ideas:
1. Decrease the amount of Bandits roaming the bridges. 2. When walking into a shadow, a shadow of a building for example - you end up walking slower. Is that some bug or something? Fix pls. 3. It doesn't show when a player has last been online - that should definitely be added. |
Some Suggestions

On bridge I usually run through middle, but now I bought a boat so it's muchhhhhhhhh easier. |
Some idea(i don't know if these are already implemented):
-factions should have a purpose, like Ryjofa said with the weapon thing, maybe also cowboys wont hurt you if you are in the cowboy faction sane for indians, bandits etc. -weapons should be more expensive. Not like era but maybe like Zone with perhaps the best gun being like 10-20k, i meen the best gun is 3k and EVERYONE has it which makes it pointless as if we all have the starting gun -360 rotation should be implemented like Zone. Kind of annoying how baddies have 360 motion and we are stuck walking/shooting in only 4 directions -baddies are way to OP in my opinion. There bullets also curve to follow you which is annoying and they are like 3x faster then you -for some reason i cant saddle the scorpion, it also runs on top of buildings, please fix it -everything is under 3k gralats(at least i think so) and it just makes me not feel special since everyone has the same thing and almost everything(bad for staff bit good for players i guess) -the mexico hidden area at top of map serves no purpose, please add levels inside of it |
No 360° pls.

They won't add 360 shooting because it's supposed to be era in the past, I don't think your supposed to saddle mobs like scorpion and crocodile because they're hostile mobs. And I think the best gun should be like 10k+ as well but not the current best gun cause it's not that good over all. |
Bump.

Add some very limited time cheap hats that people now can buy for an exclusive thing to the first players :).

As in, having two different types of "gangs"-- Posses, and Tribes. This would limit recruitment to a specific faction; and give factions more purpose. That being said, I definitely like that you're trying to create some sort of comradery between like-factions, but I don't think this is the way to do it. If players of the same faction couldn't attack one-another, it would defeat the purpose of even owning a posse/tribe. This would then essentially leave us with two "gangs", and would dramatically cut down the competition of the server. Instead of segregating them in this way, I would rather see something like "Territory Wars". Example: If we did away with those obnoxious bandit NPCs, players could be the bandits. In addition to the regular gang play that we have, we could have separate outside 'territories', where natives and cowboys fight for ownership. They can then gain points for certain accomplishments, or for parts played in aiding the territorial takeover; such as the takeover itself, building forts to defend a territory, or simply by PKing the other faction. We could then add a "Leaderboard" for the top players of each faction. (i.e. "Top Natives this week", "Top Cowboys this month".. "All time") It would add an element of RP to PKing, as well as providing reward to lone warriors without a posse(or tribe). It would also serve as entertainment while events aren't going on, or would give an alternative gameplay experience to somebody just isn't into sparring or basing. Quote:
These guns are just to start the server off. They're the equivalent to Era's Handguns, Uzis, Ak47s, Taurus, etc. Over time, the weapons will get more expensive, and more powerful. However, they won't be as absurdly expensive as iEra; and the powerful ones won't be so powerful that they ruin gameplay for the poor(iEra). Quote:
It makes the game a whole lot easier; and I personally feel that it gets boring after a couple days. Zone gives you the luxury of -always- being in a position where you can attack; and even though that comes with the burden of always being vulnerable, I prefer the alternative of 4-directional shooting, where you have to create these situations yourself. Having the limitation of 4-directional shooting makes for a much more competitive game, because it forces you to have to go within an an area of vulnerability, fire your weapon, and then get out (or dodge bullets). Essentially, you cannot attack without first putting yourself in a position to be attacked. Meanwhile, your opponent is doing the same thing. So this creates a situation where all players are constantly assessing and re-assessing the status of their own vulnerability, versus that of their opponents; in addition to dodging bullets and firing bullets to manipulate the level of exposure to this vulnerability respectively. Plus, Zone's guns lack the vulnerability of freeze; and generally have a dramatically faster fire rate. Again, this makes the game that much easier for anybody to pick up and play. And while this ease of playability may be appealing at first, it quickly gets boring. "Easy come, easy go." Quote:

I feel as if zone is harder to dodge on, you die fast on it and it's extremely hard to dodge, and lots of guns have been changed to have freeze. So not a luxury. |

Zone practically hands the game to you, to where all you have to do is dodge and fire. Era/OlWest force you to weigh out your vulnerability, then fire or dodge based on cost and gain ratio. The only vulnerability I see on Zone is obnoxiously long(and annoying) bullet trails that ruin the dodging experience, and long reloads. Don't get me wrong-- I enjoy playing Zone. I just find it to be less competitive than Era / Ol West. Their spammy guns and low freeze are a huge turn off to me. Also, "Showdown" needs a larger cage level. Once the time is up, and more than two people are in that cage, somebody is bound to get screwed over. |
