buying minecraft

I think I'm finally gonna buy minecraft. I had a couple questions.
Will updates still roll out?
Is Minecraft 2 going to come out soon or will the current version continuo to be updated?
Isnt there multiplayer survival?
Sorry I'm a noob I have only played classic and PE.

As far as I know, last thing Notch said about buying after the full release(current) was that major updates would no longer be free. As for small updates, which are yes, apparently still being done... I don't know if they will be free.

Actually I was wrong, seems anyone with Beta might have to pay for future content as well. You only get free updates until the full release, which is already done...

But I joined in better back before wolves and I haven't paid for any updates since.

Plus, doesn't the site say once you buy it the game and all future updates are free?

Updated my post.

We will also change the license to remove the line that promises all future versions of the game for free. Please note that this change only affects people who buy the game after December 20, so if you got the game for during alpha, you will still get all future updates for free, despite this change. A promise is a promise.
Buying the game during beta will include all updates up until release, of course, and bug patches will be free.

Wait. When I bought it it had that line in the license that promised all future updates would be free after I buy the game, they cant just go back on it on me, i don't know about Laws in Sweden but that seems pretty bad..

They updated the license when it went Beta, as you can see. If you saw that line you bought it when it was Alpha, otherwise I dunno what to tell you. If you bought it Beta or after then you're gonna have to pay for content updates(but not bug fixes).

Well I saw that line back when I bought it, around the time wolves were added.. That was beta right?
