Sword Art Online II

Anyone else excited for Sword Art Online II taking place in Gun Gale Online? Apparently the series starts sometime in July, SOA is my favourite anime series, not to sure about Kirito being a girl character, knowing it's japanese I hope they don't do some weird **** with him. Looking forward to it all the same

Are you kidding me...

Kirito is gonna have all the weird stuff done to him/her.

Not really. I loved Sword Art Online, but I'm not really excited for Gun Gale. I have it on my plan to watch since I will give it a try, but as far as excitement goes I'm not too thrilled.

1 year after the SAO incident, Kirito is approached by Seijiro Kikuoka from Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Department “VR Division” with a rather peculiar request.

That was an investigation on the “Death Gun” incident that occurred in the gun and steel filled VRMMO called Gun Gale Online (GGO). “Players who are shot by a mysterious avatar with a jet black gun lose their lives even in the real world…” Failing to turn down Kikuoka’s bizarre request, Kirito logs in to GGO even though he is not completely convinced that the virtual world could physically affect the real world.

Kirito wanders in an unfamiliar world in order to gain any clues about the “Death Gun.” Then, a female sniper named Sinon who owns a gigantic “Hecate II” rifle extends Kirito a helping hand. With Sinon’s help, Kirito decides to enter the “Bullet of Bullets,” a large tournament to choose the most powerful gunner within the realm of GGO, in hopes to become the target of the “Death Gun” and make direct contact with the mysterious avatar.

Kirito obviously did not watch his own series.

Just the second arc is all.

First half was horrible too.

Random time skips, cliche characters, random episodes about a new girl that falls for Kirito that has no relevance on the main plot, breaking the laws of the game, Asuna becoming useless after the first couple episodes.

So many, many more.

The only redeeming qualities about SAO is the soundtrack and animation.

The first half was good, but not great, could've done without too much time skipping and plot holes.
The second half wasn't that bad, but was far from good.
Now that is if you look at it plot wise. For enjoyment, I still find it really enjoyable, but being a series tons of people think highly of, you just can't go on without trying to find some sort of flaw.

wait what?... Kirito did a sex change?

Does anyone know if its necessary to watch the second half of SAO 1 to understand SAO 2? Im 50/50 undecided on giving season 2 a chance, but if i was expected to watch the rest of season 1, definitely NO.

There are stuff that happens in the last episode which will hold relevance to the rest of the series.

You can just watch SAO Extra (It literally recaps the entire series then gives you a new episode at the end) and will be able to get what's going on in SAO 2.
