Anime or Manga

You guys probably know what this thread will be about from the title, anyways I'm interested in knowing in knowing what you guys prefer more Anime or Manga, no Anime and Manga are not the exact same thing, some say Anime is more detailed, others say Manga is more detailed. In this thread I would like to hear what which you guys like to do best.

p.s: Bakuman is my favorite Manga

I would have to abstain from the vote, I love both.
I mainly read manga for slice of life and romance series, since I don't like how fighting sequence are shown in manga. Manga has a greater variety then anime, and you can always find a story you enjoy. Manga does not have a set amount of time for their stories, which allows extra details to the story that anime usually cuts out when adapting.
I love anime to see a manga become animate. Especially action series seems to look beautiful, and companies can spend more time adding attention to detail then a single artist can. Although there is a small variety of anime compared to manga, but that might change since there has been more and more anime being produced every year.

I don't prefer one medium over another.

What I prefer is the 'original' form. Whether that is light novel, manga or anime. Adaptations just never seem to hold up.

This usually affects anime the most since they are usually adaptations of manga or light novels, however sometimes there are manga based off an anime original series, and in those rare cases the anime is usually superior.

Manga is Art.
Anime is Animation.

Whenever an anime is terrible, just read the manga.

Whenever the manga is terrible, uhm...

Yeah do something else I suppose.

I usually like to read manga first(as it generally covers more), then watch the anime as it allows you to relive the story in an animation.

Anime. I can't do both to be honest. If they do one thing with the manga and another with the anime it would drive me crazy. I also have a thing against manga spoiling things for me. It discourages me from even looking up certain characters because I do get spoilers from time to time.

EDIT: Very stupid of me to not even mention why I like anime better. The voice acting and animation really brings the story to life for me rather than just reading picture sequences.

Manga.
Manga is more detailed, the stories are very different from Anime, Anime would leave out a lot of details that the manga has, sure Anime brings the animation to life but wouldn't you rather have something with greater detail.

Anime makes fights look way better!

Manga is great in which it covers a lot more ground and information with each issue and is more practical to read on-the-go as opposed to anime which you need to either download to your phone or stream. I find it's a lot more readily available online as well, since it doesn't feel like they're as restricted from copyrights nearly as often as certain publishers of anime.

Anime does however, bring an intense element of life into the characters, something that manga could ever hope to achieve. I read the Sakurasou light novels/manga and they simply cannot capture all of the emotion and passion the characters have in the latter episodes as well as the anime did. Same goes for Kuroko (and I'd imagine every sports series). It could be argued that when reading manga that you can "imagine" the emotion into the characters yourself, but it's simply not memorable enough and not aided enough by animation or non-illustrated settings (like in novels) to me.

Manga has better stories, anime has better fight/action scenes.
Anyways i prefer more manga than anime because pl> fight scenes

I have honestly read manga except from a dragon ball z volume book in barnes and nobles.

I would like to post an important factor for anime. When mood sequences happen: whether it be passionate, romantic, rushed, desperate, evil, sad, morbid, heroic, calm, or informative- there is usually background music adapted to the anime that you are used to hearing and that can add a whole bunch of emotion.

A good example of emotion is the ending of angel beats.
WARNING SPOILERS: Incredibly sad and ruins ending so if you haven't seen it and aren't interested, butt out!

I read the AoT manga just to know wtf is going on while the people who make the show are busy milking the **** out of the profits by doing unnecessary crap. *Cough* Movie, seriously it's only a show that ever so recently came out just get started on the second half already.*Cough*

I'm sure one does not easily create those amazing 3D Manuever Gear animations.
It takes a lot of time and attention to detail to make a well executed animation for action scenes. Sword Art Online was almost as popular as Attack on Titan, but it took them two years before a second season. It's not like slice of life and romance series that doesn't as much work to animate.

Both have differnet reason's. Sword Art Online could have made a new season sooner however the director wanted the origianl team for the second season and as people get pulled around everywhere it took two years until they could come back together

Attack on Titan still does'nt have enough source material, where the anime left finished is great if you read the manga because the first few episodes of season 2 are going to be very plot heavy
