Southern California Native moving...

So I'm headed off to Atlanta, Georgia in July for a year. Work has really located me to there, I'm actually going to be filming a movie there. They have a total of 50+ something movies slated there this next year, while California only has maybe 8 or so. Hollywood is not so much hollywood anymore, very sad really. Tax reasons I know... (California is F^#K'in pricey)

But I'm not complaining.

I came here to maybe see if we got any Hotlanta residents around the graal community and what their take is on living out there. I've done some research and I'm actually headed out to visit it this next week. But maybe ya'll got some takes on the Southern state!

-Girls to Guys ratio
-Restaurants
-Nightlife
-Shopping
-Lakes (wakeboarding)
-Anything to do that's active really...

Thanks!

I live just a few hours from Atlanta. I visit frequently and must say that it is a pleasure to stay there. The restaurants are outstanding and there are so many awesome places to visit. The only thing that might get to you is the inner-city traffic, that sucks. But overall it's a really nice place to live and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Mangsi can we call you Super M instead?

I'm used to the traffic believe me I live in LA, one thing I'm not used to is the way racial tension works there. Southern Hospitality is awesome, but my father said he was at a bar in Midtown, ATL w/ a friend who happened to be Hispanic and they wouldn't even serve him. They kept asking my dad if his friend wanted drinks ect... pretty much treated like a second class citizen. I'm not racist by any means but that's a trip to me.... guess it's something I'll have to get used to. I'm white so I'll be treated respectfully from what I understand.

But what do you Georgia residents do in your spare time...? For instance here in California and when I went to school in CO there was always something to do.
Obviously most water-sports and snow-sports are ruled out cause of no ocean and limited mountain access but... any Rockclimbing, Hiking, Camping, Lakes, ect that are around the area?

It almost seems as though the ATL offers a whole lotta drinkin', which I don't mind haha! I might have to start playing Hockey again too, I'm hoping they have ice rinks there.

If only I played.

Well, I'm a high school guy so I can always find something to do. You on the other hand are not. I'm not too sure about water sports but hell, it's Atlanta, you'll find something. I never really see too much racial tension though. Sure it happens occasionally, but where does it not? Also, if you want to talk about shopping. (This is my feminine side speaking) I'd literally go to Atlanta just to shop, they have the nicest mall I've ever been to. A Godiva chocolate store right night to an Apple and Nike store = heaven. I usually take my longboard up to Atlanta, that's a pretty fun and active thing to do. Anyways, there's an endless amount of cool places to visit and you've definitely got a years worth of exploring and excitement ahead of you.

Thanks for the feedback @Nabu, appreciate it.
I head there Sunday morning for two weeks from LAX and land sometime in Atlanta at 3:30 in the afternoon... so I'll see how it goes I guess!

Lookin' forward to it really.

Do you realize that the people you're so desperate to suck up too have full time jobs and play graal? Be careful of what you post, you might offend them.

Disneyland is in California, and Atlanta is still about 6-8 hours from Disney World in Orlando.
