Trivia Problem

I feel like trivia answers should be limited. Certain staff asked "Who is the LAT Admin? The Answers to this question were Alex, Ad, And Alex Damian. Seriously AD and Alex are not specific enough, There was a graphics staff at one point named Alex, and the LAT Admin's name is Alex Damian not Ad not Alex. I feel like there should be specific trivia answers. Also they hosted american related Trivia earlier that day where british players were asked to answer questions about american baseball. Shouldn't this be limited so that all locations have the possibility of knowing the answer without using Google Search. Only americans like myself would've known these questions. I think there should be more specific trivia answers and more known topics such as food, math, zone related and riddles. What's your opinion on this? I want to know.

Good that you didn't mention the staff asking the questions, no targeting specific people :P

However, I agree that the topics should be limited to things that everyone, regardless of location, should know. E.g. iZone, mathematics, etc.

Nobodypoor 04-04-2014 01:10 AM

Agreed i think it should be something everyone has around the same chance of getting the correct answer.

I 100% disagree with this. Have any of you even watched any sort of trivia or game show? You think those hosts care that all the contestants have an equal chance of winning? No, that wouldn't be fun for anyone.

Besides, if you are playing graal, you have access to every answer that will be asked in trivia (except in cases such as "when is MrSimons' birthday" but stuff like that is not allowed). So if you don't know the 13th word in the United States Constitution because you aren't American? Too bad, brush up on your american history. Everyone does have an equal chance of getting these questions right.

And really, trivia should be limited to math and graal related? Why don't we just give you a free hat while we're at it. Because "2+2=?" is not trivia. Its being able to type fast.

"etc", those two were just ideas.

Also, trivia on GraalOnline is all just a competition of who can type the fastest, whether or not a search engine is used to win.

I agree with what you're saying but half the time the whole game is biased towards a certain group of people such as the American example. Having maybe one or two questions on something like baseball is fine but when the entire game is that specific topic it seems pretty stupid.

So? Same concept either way.

There's a difference between being able to type fast, and knowing something and being able to type fast. If I were to do the question "1+1=?" then it is a typing competition. However if I ask "What is the capital of Alaska", then the focus isn't having fast fingers; its knowing what the capital of Alaska is.

I'd agree with this post if every single trivia question was only on one topic, but having the single round based on one topic seems more reasonable to me. Of course there are positives and negatives to both sides.

Although I will say that it feels like what OP posted is almost necessary to make the event work, seeing as there are about 0 zonians that seem to have any knowledge outside of Pokemon, Graal, and addition.

That isn't allowed, if it happens again take screenshots and send them to [email protected]. Make sure you explain the situation in your email.

I've done geographic and shakespeare trivia before :0 (Geography trivia is my favorite actually)

Most staff just do /guess (which i dont consider trivia at all) and do math... which is boring. I miss 2012 and 2013 when some staff actually asked questions for trivia. and I understand it isnt easy to come up with questions all the time that is fair for everyone but its not like we dont have search engines and access to all the information in the world at the touch of a few buttons you know?
