This doesn't exactly pertain to the supernatural, but it was frightening. This happened today in drawing. I sit near a special needs girl in our class named Allie. Allie likes to throw loud fits, and sobs spontaneously. We just ignore them, because we're always focused on our work, and it's her helpers' job to deal with this sort of thing. Today she decided to have another tantrum. These are common, so others and I just ignored the situation and continued working. Suddenly, Allie yanked on her helper's hair and dragged both of them to the ground.
Chairs flew, screams cried, and arms bent in all sorts of places. Both of them began to engage in a vicious battle, as the girl pulled on her hair, while her helper began to twist the girl's limbs. My heart sank. This wasn't the typical conflict that went on. Instead I saw the two in an intense wrestling match on the floor. Another helper rushed in. Both of them struggled to pull the girl off of the first one. They used a variety of different pressure points and submission holds to keep her down. My teacher glanced over at the skirmish while assisting another student. He casually walked over to the three, and pinned the girl's legs down.
Three of the adults struggled to wrestle with the skinny special needs girl as she continued to trash and scream. All of them, for a good ten minutes, were trying to subdue her. Just when it couldn't get any crazier, a teacher from outside the hall saw what was going on from the outside and joined in on the pile. They used their full body weight to pin her down. It was no longer a necessity to relax her. This had become brutality. I sat right next to all of this in fear. Wishing to have taken a picture of this unrelenting battle that was occurring. I hesitated though. They would've taken my phone away if I had. Allie continued to scream as the teachers and helpers continued to nearly shatter her bones while bending her arms into unnatural positions.
I assured myself. This is what they were trained to do. This is what they prepared for. But can you really prepare for this? This was chaos. Absolutely absurd how they would use a large amount of force on such a skinny, helpless girl without holding back. She wasn't even fighting back at this point. After twenty minutes, two men entered the room. One wielding a padded red shield. My teacher slid over for the man to push the shield into her chest. Then dragged her out. It was almost as if it never happened from there.
From what began as a simple outcry turned into a televised smack down event. I still question myself whether that was necessary or not. To me, it certainly wasn't to that extent. After the second helper came it only unfolded into a nightmare. Is this the teachers and staff are trained to respond to these events? I do not know. This wasn't exactly a 'ghost' story, but it was terrifying for me to watch. An unneeded amount of force on someone that weak and mentally challenged. Sickening.
