Legend of Korra

Season 2 is premiering at 7pm next Friday(13th) and it'll be two episodes back-to-back!

Also word is they've signed for a proper full show(56 episodes, I think?) which means, no more rushed story/seasons, hopefully! I'm really glad to hear that, as the first season was dreadfully short and rushed. I know it's probably a higher-budget show to produce than the other BS on Nick, but I wouldn't have been happy with just a handful of episodes that were originally planned(mini-show). Glad it's getting the reception it's getting to get Nick to sign more seasons.

And more importantly, that 7pm primetime slot! Waking up last year at 11am on a Saturday was dreadful, and probably didn't help its ratings either.

Woah! I didn't know it was coming so soon. Total hype mode: Activate!!!

I heard that there isn't going to be an overarching plot over all 3 new seasons though. Just from a friend who is pretty hardcore about this stuff, he could be wrong.

Me either! My little brother watches Nick all day every day, and I have only seen the commercial today! They sure took their time advertising it.

I dunno, what I have read is that it was originally signed for one mini-series which was essentially what the first season was. That was all that was planned. Then they expanded it for a second season. But has since then been signed for a full series on par with the original Last Airbender.

Here is what Wikipedia says:

As of May 2013, seasons two, three and four were in development simultaneously according to Bryan Konietzko.[36] The second season, Book Two: Spirits, will premiere on September 13, 2013.

Here's a really nice piece of art from a convention called "Spirits on parade" if anyone wants it

Hell yes.

Eh, Korra Book 2's premiere was okay. The main problem is that the main characters are one dimensional. Korra is bratty all the time, Bolin is basically sokka-lite, and Mako is... well.. mako. Asami is the only one that actually had some decent character development last season, but we didn't really see her in the premiere much.

It was okay, definitely not the strongest episodes but I'd still watch them again. I don't like the Chief's kids though.

I have to wait for a decent link before I can watch it. I'm really excited for it though.

I really like all the character development going on:
Spoiler
Korra maybe isn't getting much, but it is exploring the dynamic of her attitude issue conflicting with being the avatar. It's also exploring the issues of sheltering her, and the tensions going on with her family. More importantly, they're developing Aang's children, and implying that Aang possibly wasn't all that great of a dad.
