Minecraft 1.0
 

I'm sure if you're a Minecraft player you'll already know by now, but the full version (1.0) has been released! Not too keen on the seemingly darker inventory (as pointed out by BroozeB) and there doesn't seem to be that many updates in terms of blocks (:() but it's a Minecraft update and a fresh start and I feel like I've been waiting for that for ages now.

I have backed up and completely wiped the 1.8 version of our Graalians server and it's currently sitting with a fresh new world as expected. Like pretty much every other multiplayer server out there though, we're waiting until there's a stable version of Bukkit which handles most of the server and its plugins. Another issue that seems to be creeping up across the board is a, "The server responded with an invalid server key." error, but I'm sure there will be fixes for that soon enough as well.

The 1.8 server that we ran was very much a, "My first Minecraft server!" experience for the people running it. At least to me it was. There were a few things that could have been done better, and this time they will be done better. Hopefully everything that could have possibly gone wrong had gone wrong in 1.8, so when we do get that stable release we're looking for, it's time to enjoy the server again. Looking forward to seeing the new content.

i tried to log into the server and it said i wasn't white listed, are we not allowed in yet or do we have to post again to be whitelisted?

Is there any way we can get whitelisted before the new bukkit update? Some people need to recoup their massive losses >_>

Oh, Great! I hope the bug i have is fixed in this release.

I think the server might have to be restarted when Bukkit is released, I don't know. There is nobody on the whitelist at the moment just in case.

Fine by me. Like Lava said, I hope this bug never happens again :D

I think you and i are talking about two different bugs, my one is where if i open my inventory/chest/furnace, my computer freezes. Its also not fixed in 1.0

that server key thing is a bit annoying . i played around with the pre-releases and it happens a lot when you disconnect and reconnect too fast . come on bukkit , I'm bored :)

Theres nether brick and nether fences. Claudrons, enchantment tables (cool for decoration) End portal blocks and endstone. Oh, and mushroom biome Mycelium blocks, lillypads (you can walk on them) and golden apples now spawn in strongholds for block updates. If you use silk touch enchantment, you can place different shaded grass from different biomes in other areas, adding for better decoration purposes. Even excluding all the dramatic changes to game play with leveling, potions, two new biomes, enchantments, a whole new dimension, 6 new mobs, and end game credits. This is the biggest minecraft update ever.

The plan is for a complete wipe, so no.

This update is hardly necessary. Instead of contributing to the actual gameplay I think it's focusing more on minor details such as the environment, world generation, or perhaps making the Nether more than a hell-hole. Everything in this update can be done without.

I'm gonna make a giant floating castle in the new map :D
