Quick question, why are hours important because every application i read through asks for it and why does it matter.

It is not entirely important at all, just give us a general idea of your experience in Zone.

Hours is a terrible measure of experience. A lot of players afk most of their time on the server. Someone with 1,000 hours may very well be less knowledgeable than someone with 100 hours.

There are other questions on the application that measure experience. Hours are merely a way of telling roughly how long a player has played. While having 5000 versus 10,000 hours is insignificant in gauging experience, 30 versus 500 is not. It's not the best way to gauge experience, but it's not as useless as you make it out to be.

He did say a "general idea", and that's exactly what he gets.
