LAT Takes Skill

Tbh, I'm getting kind of annoyed at everybody saying "Hire me, I make good levels!", or seeing people spam various different Level Makers on Facebook trying to extract positive feedback from them. LATing's reputation has deteriorated severely. Anybody can Level anyways, it's more of a copying and pasting technique than an acquired skill. People's attitude towards leveling is more or less of "I can easily obtain a staff position this way" then actually being useful towards the iPhone server or benefiting players in a way.
If you have no knowledge of scripting or creating graphics of your own, you should not be a level maker, because anybody with a windows computer and Graal Level Editor can make something magnificent. LATing is about cunningly using NPC's within your level to enhance the mood and add color...and if you don't know how to make warps then it's pretty much futile to even attempt at a staff position.

I disagree completely. As in all development fields, leveling takes skill. Even if you're just gonna rip off other peoples' levels, it takes a little bit of skill to organize the different pieces of the level. For those who are creative, however, you will find that they are skilled and their levels are very nice compared to other levels.

easy to learm, very difficult to master

In other words...

That only applies to larger levels, or gmaps as a whole.

That's definitely not true at all.

Levels aren't entirely organized, they're more of just random **** thrown together. But of course we're on the topic of LAT's with no skill, Azrael for example.

Using paint is also random pixels thrown together.

Drawing takes no skill.

Well Graal tiles are the same. Easy to learn, difficult to master. There was once a time when lots of the tiling used on Unholy Nation and iClassic was considered phenomenal for it being new to that time period. Now it's just considered good. We rely in a small few genius levelers to introduce new concepts for the rest of us to copy.

Good levelers copy other tile arrangements, fantastic levelers create their own.
