A Link to the Past 2
Yes. A sequel to "A Link to the Past" has been announced for 3DS. It is scheduled to be released Fall 2013. What do you guys think of the reveal so far?
EDIT 2: SUPER HIGH QUALITY VIDEO. WATCH THIS.* http://www.zeldainformer.com/news/13...d-direct-sound (EDITED) Here's a video of the demo! http://i3.minus.com/ibvPIfMTijpy0j.bmp http://i.minus.com/iLH60PLE96VG4.bmp http://i.minus.com/i2n0btLEarNve.bmp This last one is interesting. It seems that link now has the ability to walk on walls, turning the game into a side scroller. Maybe there will be some homages to Zelda 2 as well? http://i.minus.com/ibluT8btcFxVUQ.bmp |
Awesome. I'm so glad they didn't just remake LttP, but decided to do something new. Sadly I don't have a 3ds :(
I also don't like the wall-walking thing... looks bad, and cheesy. Ya it opens up new possibilities, but it's just not... traditional. Graphics look great, but I don't like the cliffs. I hope the Dark World makes a return, though there's not much reason for it to. |
To be honest the graphics are pretty unappealing to me. I think it's trying to mimic the old style but also has to add fancy blemishes using the new technology which to me is an ugly thing to do.
A decade ago I would be excited, but I no longer keep track of the stuff Nintendo does anymore. |
Graphics look like crap.
Its 2013 now, games shouldn't be looking that bad. |
I love that!

was kinda neat until the drawing gimmick

Game looks too cheery, it's like all of the more recent games are just a blurred rainbow thrown up onto the screen. And the 2d thing looks god awful and makes me not want to get it just cause of that.

I love it. I want it. BUT I WANT PINK HAIR.
We need to riot. NOW |
Looking at the video again is giving me mixed feelings now, honestly, and a better second impression, because it shows good potential. Using a 3D environment in a top-down view perspective as the first and third Zelda games did might give a new experience. And, despite the tastelessly added blemishes to the graphics, it still is in a way a bit endearing mimicking the old style and keeping creative things like the stakes having faces just like the ones in Zelda 3's Dark World had.
It MIGHT do something that will set make it stand out from the recent incarnations of the Zelda games like Skyward Sword but I'm not really optimistic. |
Holy ****. Here's footage from the demo. It looks amazing when running on the 3DS! Also it seems to be running at a full 60FPS, which is always nice. The gameplay looks really tight and fast as well. I don't think those screenshots I posted do it any justice. The game seems stunning.
After seeing this demo, this is the most hyped I've been for a nintendo game for a very long time. |
