Your Opinion On Events?
 

Over the duration of this week, I've participated in a fair number of events, ranging from chance, to digging, to hidden paths. It's worth noting that I didn't win any of them. I feel as though events are orientated around luck, positioning, and knowledge. One must possess all three, if they want to win. This is coming from a guy who hasn't won an event in 7 months.

Event teams have even been introduced, making competing even more challenging than ever.This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but with these event teams sweeping the competitive scene, I'm beginning to wonder if newer/less experienced players really have a chance at winning at all. There should be some sort of rating system, so that the more experienced players can compete amongst themselves, while the less experienced/less lucky can also be given a chance to win. I like the competitiveness that events bring to the table. Don't get me wrong, it's really a good thing.

What are your thoughts?

I don't even participate because I have to look for the warp portal each time. I like Era's much better when it asks you if you want to participate and you click "Yes" or "No". Saves the hassle of searching the whole map. Except for some events I know you don't need it like chest digging, hide and seek, and trivia. I haven't participated in an event for awhile now so if this is wrong feel free to correct me.

I have events turned off. It's just spam in my inbox to me.

I know I'm not gonna win anything, but I still find myself sucked in to play them. And it seems like events always end right before I log on. But it is true what you said about event teams. I honestly think new players don't stand a prayer against these event teams, and I don't think even most regular players have a decent chance. Honestly, the only events they do have a chance in are trivia and chests.

Those ET nerds ruined events. I have only ever won 4 events but these guys seriously need something better to do

I dont believe we ruined events. We just learn the map to figure out where the warpers will be and every event we get in, it only helps us become better at them. I have just started doing events december of 2012 and i already have 70+ wins. I got wins against ET even when i wasnt in the guild. If you arent good at events at least you have Chance, Chests, and trivia. Thatd why admin are making Team Events so we can work together and so you dont feel you are alone.

People who are in ET are too full of themselves. It's just a game who cares how many hats you have?

I don't like the idea.

I don't see the problem in creating a guild for events. It's just like having a guild for sparring/guild sparring or towering. Some guilds are known for towers, guild spar or hanging out. They're known for Events. If you don't like how they're always winning, do what other guilds do. Make a guild of you're own to compete. There isn't any opposition to ET in terms of guilds. That's like hating a tower guild for taking all the towers if there were no other tower guilds to compete with them.

I dont think the guild ET itself is ruining events. Although they may tell each other where the warped is etc its not thier fault they win. Even without them being in the guild, you will still see familiar players winning events.

We need more team events.

I would love to participate in an event sometime but usually I am on the other side of the map whenever they are started or I'm blocked from entering warps from the teeny bopper masses. I'm not complaining though eventually I will get in one of them.

The only thing that bothers me is that some player killer fanatics take advantage of the events to block people out and to get more kills. P.kers are annoying sometimes, it's like they suffer from first person shooter syndrome.

I agree with zazzi there should be more team events and i feel that events are stupid when a mob decides oh no lets pk everyone too death

I really am starting to dislike events, and it is mostly those ET guys, they win every event and it really sucks the fun out for everyone else playing.
