iOS Servers

As you all know, iZone was released weeks ago. The player count on iZone drops to about 20 on bad days, and rises up to no more than 90 on a good day.

Graal is also planning on releasing Delteria to iOS, and more servers in the future.

What I don't understand, is why Graal is killing itself. The more servers that are released, the less players there will be on each server, which will cause some playes to quit the server, or quit Graal.

I thought 2 iOS servers was more than enough, and now we have 3, which is alright, however, any more than 3 iOS servers would destroy the iZone community, and the new server wouldn't gain much players at all.

I know this thread isn't going to change your mind on releasing iOS servers, but this thread does tell the truth about how Graal will die.

I would suggest spending time working on current servers, instead of completing one, and then moving on to develop a new one.

Thank you for reading,
cmx2us :)

I half agree.

Destroying iZone? In that case they should hurry up and bring delteria out.

Releasing multiple servers isn't going to kill Graal as a game. Different players are going to be interested in different types of servers and it's also up to the servers staff to keep the server going strong with quality updates. Of course there is going a few servers less populated then others but that's just that way it is. With graal potentially moving to androids in the future, I don't see multiple servers killing graal anytime soon.

I'm just afraid everyone will go for the new servers, however that obviously didn't happen.

My personal opinion on the matter is that playercount is reflective on content or the appeal of a server. First impressions are everything. When iZone was released there was not much content to be had...only three missions total with no way to earn a consistent source of income. This likely drove players away, that and the fact that iZone is a gun based server similar to era. Players that wanted guns moved to era from classic yet the playercount remained high on both servers. My thinking is that many people are under the impression that iZone is lacking content compared to iEra.

I respectfully disagree with your argument because I feel that every player has their own preference for a server type be it guns, RPGs, or Zelda gameplay (classic). If Graal wishes to cover all the bases then they should release an RPG server be it iZodiac, Kingdoms iPhone or Delteria. If those servers make a good first impression on players then it is likely they will stay for the duration ensuring a high playercount.

I agree with this but I also think zone, as a game, was a failure the first time and is a failure now.

Yeah, this is true too. First impressions really make a difference and I believe that iZone lost a lot of people with its impression. iZone at launch just felt really raw and almost rushed in a way because the levels were so bland and empty and there wasn't too much of a difference at the time compared to iEra.

Graal Zone has very advanced gameplay mechanics, there are classes which give you bonuses or disadvantages, specialty weapons, and robots to assist you in-game. These features have really appealed to the current iZone community, however new players have more of a hard time understanding the game, so they stick with their favorite server, where they have a bunch of rare items and other goods.

However, I do think different features like these do make the game more interesting, and if a player starts to understand the game, they will have a good time playing on the server.

I think iZone was released way too early.

I think the new systems and features that iZone have incorporated are great! As you say though, I feel as though iZone was released too early. Had they waited to release with the classes/robots, extra guns, etc. I feel as though the server would have a higher player retention rate. This is all just my opinion though :).

iZone may be abandoned by the time iDelteria is out.

Kiwi 01-27-2013 08:32 AM

Providing the servers are actually good and the themes are unique the playercounts should even out over time, I think.

Look every server is good. But if zone held off the release until they had more content then i am sure it would be like any other server. Now the reason why you all think delteria is going to win, is because this server has been under dev since year 2000. People have come and go on this server. So yes delteria has more content. But i am sure if we give zone a cuple of years i am sure it will have great content also. My tip for them, instead of giving robots and factions, maybe make the spaceship bigger add new zones...ect i personally think robots ect.... are smaller updates that should not matter till you have enough content. When your satisfied with the content, then maybe do the small updates. ;)

Not really. Isn't the current Delteria a revamp of the original from then? I was under the impression the current one has been in development off and on for four years or so.
