My God what the hell is so appealing about Minecraft?

Its a sandbox game where you can design anything, and its coded in java, so you can make a mod for just about any concept imaginable pretty easily compared to other games. There's minecraft versions of Team Fortress 2, and DayZ. (MineZ is actually pretty darn fun, i enjoy it more than DayZ.) There's MMORPG servers and complex adventure maps, what is special about minecraft isn't the game itself, its what the players can do with it.
