Lionsgates SAW series is set to continue.
 

As you might know, SAW 7 was the 'last' saw, but liongate said that saw will come back in later years, as they filmed multiple endings for saw7.

I wish Hollywood could come up with more original movies, for the past few decades all that has really came out is sequels or adaptations of books.

Was inception a book?
Was batman a book?
Was toy story a book?
Skyfall was a book, but its great.

...Toy story 3 was a sequel to toy story 2? And Batman.... you don't think the dark knight trilogy was based off of something? Thats my point, there was very few original (non animated) movies this decade and last decade, inception being one of them.

They were questions not trying to be cocky, and the dark knight rises was not based of anything :-)

Theres not a comic that includes bane, batman, new york, and a nuke :-)

yah but that's just three movies you describe there, you'd expect more. There is so much out there to make a film about but of course they just stick to some totally expected plot that they think viewers will like.

Its based off a comic book universe, its a new story line of course, but isn't that so for all 'sequels' of other franchises? I don't think you're getting my point..

yah, halo did a series for their games. I thought that was pretty cool.

And SAW is one of thr most well know movie franchises in movie history, so i dont just think sick people watch saw :-)

The dark knight rises is based off of the nightfall and no mans land story arcs:P

The movie industry is stagnant, you could say the same thing for video games as well. I can't say the same for music though, something new is always being created.

Bane is an original comic character, its in gotham not new york, and theres been 500+ superhero comics involving all kinds of explosives, mainly nuclear. All in one? No, that would make a crappy comic.

Are you serious here? The video game industry is the most flourishing art right now. Seriously, inFAMOUS, LBP, Minecraft, Skyrim is a new part of the elder scrolls series, original still, the batman: arkham games, Split Second, oh yeah, and im pretty sure iGraal came to be in this decade, which in my opinion is still original with all this gfx creations and such going on. The video game industry is infact bigger than it was in previous decades, especially with motion gaming and such.

The pokemon TV show is based off the games.
They made a super mario movie in the 1990s.
Theres also a final fantasy movie.
Max payne was originally a video game.

Video games are more common as movies than you think, but they never tend to become popular in the box office.
