Classes
A popular "future improvment" idea among zone players currently is a class system to be implemented on the PvP battlefield. This would allow players to choose a specialization upon entering the battlefield. These specializations would allow players of a certain class to have certain boosts and traits that other classes don't have. This is my example-

These would be the 4 classes I would implement. They would be
Assualt
Defense
Support
and Covert.

Here would be my idealistic stats I would give to each class, but this is only my opinion:
Assualt= +1 attack damage.
Defense= -1 damage recieved from attacks.
Support= Max ammo increased. More health recieved from health packs.
Covert= Invisible on map from enemies. No notification to enemy team when you take one of their bases.

Along with these stats automatically given upon choosing a class, each class also would have many different specializations you can choose from. Specializations would be abilites players pick (only can have one equiped at a time) that would appear as an inventory item on the screen while playing and when used, has a variable recharge.

This ^ is an example for specializations in the assualt class. You could unlock specializations in order in one of two ways

1) Unlock specializations in order by racking up kills in that class. EXA 100 kills with assualt would unlock sprint. 300 kills with assualt would unlock flashbang. 600 kills with assualt would unlock bomb. 1000 kills with assualt would unlock jetpack. This would work the same way for all the classes.

2) OR, unlock specialazations by completeting challenges in order. EXA run 1000* tiles far and unlock sprint. Then, use sprint 200 times to unlock bomb. Kill 50 players with bomb to unlock jetpack. Similar concept for the other classes.

And of course all specialzations would be balanced. Say although you can use jetpack to easily leave/evade any fight, you can only use it every 90 seconds. Then with sprint, you can't just easily fly over walls to evade, but you can use it alot more, with the cooldown only being 10-20 seconds.


The specialization button to press in game could be located dirrectly above the other weapon buttons on iPad. On the iPhone/iPod, it could be located left of the very top weapon button, but game notifications would have to be altered a bit so they dont get in the way.

The idea wasnt to be expanded upon until the devs actually wanted it, three classes would be simple to work on rather than 4 which might not catch an eye of the right person, it also takes away and adds on from my idea. I do like the idea of unlocked items but the idea goes to that other guy. This is simply the addition of the two with edited images and unlocking concepts.

The covert class is a bit OP, they could take bases without being noticed, Unless theyre visible in game to the enemy. Otherwise im fine with this idea.

Well, the enemy team would be able to see what base is owned by who when they use the map, regardless of if a covert captured it or not. Since from what i've seen, most players check the map frequently, especially when they respawn. The covert class would only keep the notification at the top of the screen appearing if they capture a base. The enemy would realize that a covert has taken one of their bases soon enough, it just wouldnt immedietly notify them to go take it back.
The covert class would be visible completely IN GAME, just not on the map to enemies. However, furthering on my ideas, I had pictured a specialization for covert to be disguise. It would be a long cooldown ability and it would make your team icon appear as an ally to the enemy for a short time, perhaps 10-15 seconds. However, your allies can also see you are on their side. Hope that makes sense

This post is kindof just negativity into the fact I re-did your thread, more detailed and fit to my opinions. Sorry about that. Thanks for the input about three classes Vs four classes. I still however, prefer four.

No the post was for the fact you merely took from two ideas without giving credit merely putting them up as similar to your idea? It's no different from stealing graphics without giving credit.

I said this is a popular "future improvement". Stop whining about not getting your credit kid, is that all you care about? This idea has been up since way before zone came out and i put my own interpretation of it into my thread. If it bothers you that this is similar to a thread you made or somthing, thats your problem.

Im done with arguing say whatever you want if it makes you feel better, I didn't complain for just myself but the other person you took from. The only thing different in this is the addition of a class, you didn't go into detail you only reworded what I've already said in my previous thread and combined another idea from someone else into this. You clearly stated it was YOUR idea when most of this obviously wasnt.

Thanks! Yeah some of the ideas seemed to come from the back of my head from halo reach armor abilities but it is still very different :)

Nice idea.
This could be implemented with a new leveling system.
When starting out, a player could choose what class they would like to be.
Then, the level/exp bar would say something like:
"Level 6 *exp bar* class"
Each level would go to a skill tree (kind of like Skyrims)
Once a player reaches a max level, they could then choose a different class, OR stay with what they want.

Spanking idea old boy! The implementation of classes and skills would add a fantastically diverse twist to PvP. It's so easy to picture a bunch of supports backing up tanks or DPS.
