I don't own a sten, but the M4 is a safe bet anyway. :)

musical 12-20-2012 08:48 PM

I bought the sten and love it

Sten has a noticeably lower freeze than the m4.
Its the same freeze difference between m4 and p90.

Sten also has a noticeably lower bullet spread.

As for your question, it really depends on your preference. If you like your M4, the only thing you'll find intriguing about the Sten is its lower freeze. Then again, you may find that you're better with more accurate guns. Depends on your style aswell.

While the Sten has less freeze, I'm personally not fond of the Sten because I've spent the majority of the past 10 years using guns with spread.
In my early Black Holst days(2003), when I first started getting pretty good, I used the AK47(had 100% accuracy).

I eventually started using the Famas when Pyro Tech released it in late 2004, and started building a style around spread.

Although, back then the only gun that had a freeze lower than the current P90 was the Uzi, which suffered in damage. Skill was really required back then. I wish I could tweak these guns to bring back that level of competition.
That was Cloyd's intent, and he got fired for it.

But yeah, I'd personally rather use an Uzi than either Sten or M4.

Thanks for your input Meph, I love your work as you are actually LISTENING to what the players want. I do have to agree with you I used to love no freeze back in the day it was all about the Uzis and pistols :P

I havnt commented on any post/thread in the past few months, but I really couldn't resist Meph's input to this thread...

I mean he is absulate brilliant in his work for the past decade and the only admin who listen to all of our concerns, also he is totally right to what he said, when giving differences to different weapons.

Personally I'll say stick with the M4 if you like to spar and have a decent spread affect.

How can you blame him if there isn't any proof of other staff listening and engaging threads?

The best so far are Meph, snk, SnakeRecon and Cloyd (When he was staff.) Others seem to peek their heads in once in a while, leaving us to our own predetermined opinions.

If I'm honest It's not all staff some are helpful, Casper, snk, snake.Hmm that's about it.

And BBoyEatsBacon was quite good too, communication wise.

Just because staff members don't regularly communicate within our unofficial forums, that doesn't mean they don't listen to the community's two cents.
