First Impressions

So I've been playing Zone for the past couple hours and here are my impressions.

The combat is excellent. Sure there are only a few weapons at the moment, but the way you can shoot in all directions, dodge bullets, and overall the feel of the combat is amazing. It has amazing potential, I can imagine awesome content that this combat system supports.

The missions are pretty boring, but can definitely improve. There are 3 missions at the moment. They get repetitive very quickly.

With the rescue one, you basically look around the map for 10 people and free them with your knife. There are enemies all around but you can just run past them and ignore them.

With the capturing bases one, basically you run around the map and walk over 5 control points and you're done. You can just ignore the bosses.

With the generator one, you kill the 3 generators on the map. You can walk up to the generator, shoot it until it gets low, then walk away and heal before going back and repeating until it dies.

The missions are the best way to level up and get money, they are easy and are still more fun than farming or shoveling.

Overall, the current missions are boring, but the systems they have in place for missions can definitely support more awesome ones. I'd like to see more challenging missions in the future. It would be cool to have ones that require lots of teamwork and effort, such as defending a base from waves of enemies and bosses. Maybe even down a powerful boss, by dodging all of their attacks, and performing unique actions for that boss like destroying a crystal that powers the forcefield that defends the boss.

The pvp is decent, there is currently 2 ways to pvp. one is a control point map, and one is a nonstop pk zone. You can earn money from the control point map, but not from the nonstop pk area.

The map design on the control point battlegrounds need work. There are currently 2 maps, both very similar in layout. The problem is that there are too many walls in the way, and the map is too big. This leads to long walks and getting lost just to find a point and have action go on. If the maps were revamped perhaps the pvp would feel faster paced. Additionally, there are certain things that can be shot through and certain things that can't, it's quite confusing.

It's nice earning money for pking on that map though, that's great for players who like pking.

Overall, there just isn't enough to do at the moment. You can pk, do 3 repetitive missions, and decorate your spaceship(basically a house) and that's about it.

I personally wouldn't recommend paying $2 for it. The game has a ton of potential, but I feel it wont be great until the staff create new awesome content for it. The free version will come out soon, so if you were planning to get the free version I'd just wait.

Only if I had the game, right now I'm waiting for the Free Version. :(

It really exceeded my expectation.

Personally i like it. You seem to forget you can do missions and stuff ith your teammates, there arent OP guns yet, and yeah. I do agree it will be alot better and alot more worth the $2 in the future. Just needs more mission types and more activities. But eh, its alot more to do than era.

Yeah you can do missions with your teammates to speed it up. My problem with the missions is there isn't much teamwork needed to accomplish them. it's more of search for said locations or travel to set location rather than something that requires several players to work together on to accomplish.

The combat and mission system that is in place now would definitely support large scale missions that are challenging and engaging, it will just take them time to make them.

I'll forward this- there could be an extra button on your combat knife to throw combat knives? :)

Era and classic don't have much more to do in comparison besides basing/sparring. The only major difference is their world maps are much larger, and because of that they are much more social based.

I got my ipod taken away too, bro... Can't wait to get it. This sucks that I don't have it atm

Era has all kinds of jobs, quests, basing, events, zombie mission, and other stuff im unaware of

classic has quests, fort taking, spar/guild spar, tons of customization/exploring, mini games like archery, and all kinds of other stuff I might not be aware of.

Zone is brand new and has time to improve, Era and Classic both started out with nothing to do, and they're both awesome now :)

Yeah, I know. But really the battlefields and the missions are about essentially the same thing as the quests, events, minigames, and jobs. Of course they have fundamental differences but they are all different servers. Anyways what i was getting at is that in the end there is about the same amount of things to do on izone as there is on iera and iclassic (besides guild forts and spars, those are two big time consumers), and what really makes era and classic much easier to sink hours into is how heavily focused they are around socializing. iZone may not have this quality since the overworld is very small and the focus is directly on the events and battlefields. Because of this, its easier to notice how little there is to do on iphone servers.

I wish who ever promoted it on Era facebook page didn't said anything because, that will just promote idiots
