Soundtrack Recommendation Thread!

ok
This is a thread for recommending music, specifically movie/video game/anime soundtracks. It could be for any reason, whether you need something to inspire some work of yours, you want something to use in a project, or just need some new music to listen to.

I'm going to do this in a way inspired by Talon's headphone thread.

Music Preference:
What Do You Want Music For?:
What Kind Of Music Do You Want?:
Other:

For the third thing, it means what kind of situation or something. Like if you want music that sounds apocalyptic or happy or something.

inb4 Talon wondering why he inspires so many things
inb4 OP can't inb4

Perhaps like an "underground" society feeling with a touch of reinassance style so I could draw inspiration when writing for Valtoria. I like the idea of some shady business going on in the shadows of Graal, while the rest of the world are just pawns all lined up to die. Blissfully unaware of what is to come.

Blueh, I'm getting mixed emotions from your description, so I'll give a few. They mostly stay in minor key, which would probably best suit your needs. Let me know what you like or dislike about them, as there are plenty more where they came from.

Dark, suspenseful, fluid. Multiple melodies give the impression of multiple occurrences during the same time period, which may help to both describe a plot and foreshadow its twists.

I love this tune. It outlines the section just before a climax. Pretty suspenseful, courageous.

Winter has saved Blueh from being songless. Good on you, Winter.

Talon 11-26-2012 06:35 AM

Music Preference: Acoustic/piano/downtempo
What Do You Want Music For?: Sleeping
What Kind Of Music Do You Want?: Preferrably something reminniscent of bittersweet moments in animes, and the songs that accompany them. Like that one BRS song I posted in the "Currently listening to" thread.
Other: Why am I so inspiring? /ego

Damn o_o not bad. Just thought of a character for that, a villain in specific :D thank you

I'm gonna be so high damn matinance on this thread it isn't even going to be funny lol. Now I'm looking for a soundtrack that compliments a hierarchy. One that you are not a part of. You are of less than subatomic worth and value to Them, you are simply human. Nothing more. But from the bottom you have slowly worked yourself up, risen to of some importance. And for this, you are rewarded. With a mere taste of true nobility. Wealth and power at disposal. It will truly sicken you to see what treasures have been kept from the world, but it will dumbfound you with awe and amazement to see what accomplishments have been made. You will beckon for another taste, but alas your thirst will constrict you unquenched. And you will forever be searching for the same feeling, one that will never be felt again.

I don't know whether you would consider this bittersweet or not, but it's a beautiful piano piece and since you want it for sleeping apparently, it is nice and soft for such a thing. /bad explanation

I think I found two that may convey the feeling you wish to get from a song.

This one's more rock-ish.

-Long
-Good
-Not Distracting (ie no vocals, overpowering melodies, flutes and violins tend to be culprits)

I really just need something to study with and shut everything else out with, I used the Inception and LotR soundtracks a few nights ago. I'm basically a blank canvas for criteria, so throw your favourite soundtracks that I'm not gonna be distracted by at me.

Kinda unrelated, but I'm generally a huge fan of anime soundtracks and stuff.

It's not unrelated at all, in fact it helps with narrowing down song choices.

Here's one that you might find interesting, based on length, goodness, and hopefully not being too distracting:

Bump. I have a couple great minor tracks ready for anyone looking for a sad or depressed environment, or who just finds the style entertaining.

Maybe once all hope is lost, a once vivid mind is burdened with thoughts that threaten sanity.

More upbeat. Time is scarce. This is the real last chance, different from before, yet somehow related all the same. One step backwards from plan B and you could find yourself in the same situation plan A resulted in. We must not subconsciously resort to repeating our recent mistakes. (More haunting, horrific.)

One of my most favorite OST, Dustforce. Dustforce is an amazing game with an extremely high difficulty rating, indie game, fairly cheap on steam.

This is pretty nice, for a chaotic battle or something.
