Guild Spar Expansion

I've suggested something like this for Era. Not sure how it was received. Anyway, maybe it'd be nice for classic.

I think gspar guilds should have a logo on the map attained by number of wins. The guild with the highest number of wins should be "in control" on the map (unless no gang member is there to represent them in the spar room).

Stats earned would not be based on time held, but wins. There should be an extreme number of gspar wins that you earn.

Wins would go toward a guild hat, similarly to how towers earn you hours.

I'm not getting the message.

Guild Spar Competition ---> Gain # of wins, instead of a ratio ---> Earn a guild hat after a certain amount of wins are met.

Put more emphasis on guild spar to make it more popular by making a map (tower logo and name) display, just like they do for towers.

brb boosting

I support the idea of rewarding successful guilds, but I think we have plenty of hats, especially guild hats floating around. The map icon was another nice idea, but I think it adds something to fort capturing that guild spar doesn't have. It designates dominance of that area by the guild whose logo is displayed. Battle arenas are more of a shared environment by nature from my point of view. It is hard for me to picture a single guild gaining control. Also, the guild in control would not be able to defend the title when the members are offline, and therefore the controlling guild would not always be accurate. Plus, the map would soon become cluttered, and lag when opening it would be incredible.

Like I said, though, I would support a guild spar update of some sort.

brb boosting

This would also be a valid issue with keeping track of wins/losses.

Maybe if the map shows the guild pic of the guild who won the last guild spar or has the most wins in the given hour. and if the guild spar arena is inactive for an hour, guild pic is removed from map.

who knows, maybe this idea could even re-populate the forgotten Belle isle guild spar.

Shock 11-15-2012 11:58 AM

Maybe you need a minimum of four members to stay on the map?

I understand, but two "tower images" shouldn't make much of a difference in lag. I just think players aren't exposed to guild spar often and people don't care.

Well, there's boosting everywhere you go. It's a concern with any open system. However, boosting can be punished and as guild spar becomes more popular, the more those arenas will be filled.

I do like your idea of having the guild logo above the guild spar arena for the guild with the most wins but wins for the guilds would have to be closely monitored and would also have to be wiped clean after a certain amount of time say a month or so. Also I would like to see one of the guild spar arenas moved a lot closer to Graal City or as many have previously stated to move it into the spar arena itself which would make it a lot easier to access along with getting more sparrers into guildpsparring. I do think that having a prize for a certain amount of guild spar wins would be a good idea but it really depends what the prize would be.

I like what you said. A monthly "race" for gspar wins. Then it starts over. Closely monitored... I suppose. I was hoping for an alternative method for getting a guild hat, but it doesn't have to be that. Maybe a special mount or a staff-made set of "guild spar GFX." (Sword Code, Shield Code and Body - all matching.)

Yeah, a guild spar place would be nice in that area.

I like it. I think. Not entirely sure if I understand it, but I think I do.
