Gang Pictures
 

Hi,

I'd like to address this issue with the gang pictures. People are uploading inappropriate images as their gang picture and asking players to 'rate'.

As you know, this is bad so we delete the gang and punish the leader. However, we need to implement the admin approval on Era.

I'd like to ask you on your opinion on how we can put a positive spin on this- so that it doesn't seem as though it's a bad thing. We are going to implement this change, so not having it isn't an answer.

Apologies for any inconvenience, as we know people do use it for posting their awesome graphics and cute dogs. Anything that will help you get over the change I'm up for (i.e. a free event coin for every gang leader that logs online in the next month)

Yeah, it's getting kinda sick. This is a game for 13+ yr olds too. Maybe a review system, where staff approve the pic or not before the pic is set.

Maybe you could fix the photos. Like make your own in-game or use a preset. That way, no-one is using photos from their library.

@ review system: thats basicly whats included into the uploading thing besides a 6hours cooldown for players as i noticed it.
i also got the idea of creating the image in-game, yet i dont have an idea how i could add such a drawing tool. would have to mess with some stuff

i say that we put it into the news that any GP with any porn or that stuff if reported the leader, then the gang is deleted and the player is puniished for 1 day and there rights to making a gang is revoked, also revoke them owning ANY gang (leader of one gang cannot make that player a leader). BUT, add in a bounty of 10,000 graalets for any player who reports and bans the player

This is something I can agree on. The GPs I have seen can get out of hand and I wouldn't mind a review system.

I do however, post pictures of art and other useful things. A cool down time would limit the amount I could use it though. The only problem is how long it would take PRs to review each one that is changed, and could they handle reviewing each GP along with their other duties, such as custom approval, or plain out player monitoring.


I know its a bit off topic, but like the paint option in multiplayer rooms on Pokemon, but perhaps we could have a gang insignia building instead with the same idea in mind.

Here players could use pre-made insignias,designs,backgrounds,color, and text to make their own GP in game, but would still be reviewed for profanity.

and there are a lot of inappropriate images going around which arent announced - we cant check every GP in any other way.

OH I KNOW! why don't we have a admin team just for that or make it a PR job

how about to make it faster make it a random chance, like every 1 out of 10 guild pic changes get sent to review, or make it so all guild pics get sent for review but still show up, or if it has to happen exactly the way stefan wants it, make a quota that staff have to review each week, to ensure they are doing as much as they can

really? there needs to be something that the players can do to help, i would much rather have admins work on "updates" than looking at pictures all freakin day

The ones who develop/generate levels are different from PRs whom would review the GPs

IDEA! how about this, we have a website and you log into the website, once you log into the website you review pictures saying accepted or denied. For every pic reviewed you get 10 graalets.

I compleatly agree Andrew, having players upload pictures of their banana and stuff and asking players to 'rate' is unacceptable. But I do like the idea of a free event coin, maybe the leader of the gang gets one every month if nothing inappropriate is uploaded.

I have a question. Is it possible that once an admin approves your image for GPic, that it is put in a folder server side so if you ever wanted to change it back to that approved image you would not have to wait?

Sorta like customs. Once approved you have it in your inventory. Can the same thing be applied here?

I don't really fully understand what your saying but I got the hint, I thought maybe their could be like a creative room with a creative board and it has the players user and you can upload gfx (bypass a admin) and then people can search your name etc idk I would like that but there's gonna be a massive floor that I'm too blind to see I just know it xD

Just add a white list for the people you know won't be idiots.
