Graalians Minecraft Hunger Games III
 

Tomorrow at 8:30 PM EST, the third Graalians Hunger Games will be hosted!

Here's basically how it will run down:

• The winner will receive a $15 Gift Card of their choice to either Jinx.com or iTunes.
• The server will temporarily shut down around 7:00 PM EST or so to allow for the Hunger Games map and such to be installed.
• The server will reopen at around 8:00 PM EST so that you can go ahead and log in to claim your spot.
• The whitelist will be the same. (If you aren't whitelisted you can post your account here.)
• Smart Moving is currently not working with the newest build. I would not recommend leaving it turned on for the event as it is glitchy without the server portion. You can press F9 a few times to turn it off.
• The map has been premade and is quite cool, in my opinion.
• Plugins will prevent the placing and breaking of glass panes and gold blocks to keep you from destroying the walls and the cornucopia.
• You will not be able to leave the dimension or use enderpearls.
• Everything else is fair game!

Now, enough with the systematical stuff. Here's some tips to survive!

• The Cornucopia is hidden near spawn and dangerous. If you are able to be the first person in there, you're likely to get a good advantage. If you aren't, you might not come out alive. It's also not your average Cornucopia... It's a bit of a maze which will make it hard to both enter and defend.
• There are chests hidden throughout the map with diamonds in them... If you can get them it will definitely help you in the long run.
• If something seems peaceful and nice, it probably won't be for long. If something seems evil and deadly, it probably won't be for long. (If something seems peaceful and nice, it might just stay that way. If something seems evil and deadly, it might just stay that way.)
• Point is, don't assume anything. You will find yourself tricked!
• Now, let's not get ridiculous here. Just like in the Hunger Games, the goal is for tributes to kill each other. If you're on your toes, you won't fall for the few pre-made traps. TNT is not going to rain down on you for the heck of it... It will be fair.
• The last two victor's have owed their success to hiding six feet above bedrock and making diamond armor. You will not find the same success this time.
• Just don't step on pressure plates. Especially stone ones in dark caves... Might as well turn your brightness up for this one.
• I just want to emphasize that there is nothing ridiculous in the arena that is going unfairly to kill you. This is a game, not a jerk showdown of opression, so I intend to keep the competition fun and fair. I realize in the actual Hunger Games they pretty intentionally killed off certain tributes, but we have $15 at stake here! So that wouldn't be fair! (Afterall, $15 is much more important than the lives of 23 innocent children!)

I am still pretty sure I cannot play. If I can, I will get home about 10 minutes before it starts, but then I won't actually be ready to play until like 8:40

Blargh. Nametags are stupid. They give away your location, I completely forgot about them and was killed while having my back to the wall mining XD

I have a ban with the reason "temp ban", is that because of the Hunger Games?

Were you Chezzyman? :P They are a bit dumb, but you have the option of crouching to hide your nametag. The only problem I have is that doing nearly anything takes you out of crouch so it's actually pretty hard to keep it constantly hid and get something done.

The hungergames were a bit meh.

Enchantment table most definitely should have not been there if it was.

And most importantly(something I just realized), the fact that the server was nopvp for so long at the start means everyone who got geared up off the Cornucopia had absolutely no threat of being killed while they looted. The entire point of the Cornucopia is that it may have good loot, but is also a bloodbath. That's way too much power in one spot when there was no danger of dying trying to loot it. The fact that I could have just stayed at spawn and gotten more powerful stuff/enchantments and not die with absolutely no effort on my behalf, instead of all the mining, digging, and sneaking/killing I did out in the actual world is fairly annoying. I think that's pretty bad balancing.
