It looks like they updated it in the past day because it connected me to this weird login server:

Seems like the new mobile client might actually be connecting to the pc worlds aswell, pretty interesting

you can create an account from one of the buttons under the blue bar... not sure. I also wonder if the public and private is referring to which servers you can join.
