Tfw you're joking and the thread gets to talking about addressing bans...

Are the various reasons for ban with examples and severity mentioned on the site somewhere? Along with the tos in layman's terms for example?

It’s why I asked about some kinda liaison type admin, someone we can talk to and ask about this stuff without triggering a landmine

Great information

What is the minimum and maximum amount of time for a communication ban and can they be stacked back to back?

When a ban is given out, is it reviewed after the fact by a admin that wasn’t involved?

Are admins allowed to interact/speak with players directly? And speak openly in the forum?

Sorry for all the questions suddenly. I just wanted to understand more about the system

Normally communication bans are tied with certain ban offences, so the communication ban is typically the same length as that ban. (They don't stack)

Bans that come trough ban appeals from supports tickets will get reviewed by the support team there.

Staff members are free to chat and use the forums as they please. However, ban appeals and account related questions should be directed towards support. We do have a good number of staff over at the Graalians discord channel who like to chat there as well.

GPs are disconnected from real staff (devs) so it makes sense to continue that way imo

Ouch

Interactions with staff are always appreciated and it’s reassuring to know that you can all come here to talk “shop”

I get the feeling the GP team deals with some deeply disturbing stuff, Do they have a support system for dealing with stress?

I just saw this and just wanna say Communication bans were bullsh*t and only made sense and had timers till recently. They used to give it to the players that insults the old management or when they make a mistake with their bans based on false reports. Instead of apologizing, they unban your account make up a different random reason “you advertised discord” and then giving you a communication ban. (i gave my discord username to a friend. They never actually found out about it, when I received the 8k h ban i asked them if its because i gave my friend my discord username. People put it in their statuses and stuff im sure its not a problem they just didnt want to admit the 8k hours ban they gave was a mistake). Also the communication bans were not the same length as your account ban. For example my second communication banned lasted for more than a whole year and there is no ban acc equal to that. If the management didn’t change I would have never been able to use forums and my account would have remained communication banned. (some people got com banned for 2 years too). Appeals regarding communication bans and guild bans used to always get ignored.

We all know the old manager did a terrible job, the communication ban isn’t bad anymore. It’s actually given for good reasons now. But I heard it still takes you off tag when you click “edit” on your profile, which can be annoying.

It’s kinda sad tho how there is still players that been guild banned for multiple years now and their support tickets gets ignored. Guild bans also used to be given for bull**** reasons, nothing related to guilds.

A lot of things regarding bans improved tho, now they match what Regas said.

@Saeed those emails look unprofessional as h*ll. A mature and responsible staff member would be more tactful and list only the reason for a ban and state that ToS have been breached in a sense.

Looking at this sentence phrasing, "You were reported for" is blatantly obvious that that staff member isn't any older than 16, because a typical adult staff member wouldn't construct this type of notice this way.

They also said the word "but".

"You were reported for this, BUT this is why you're being banned."

"Please be advised" is literally as unprofessional as can be, let alone from an email. Followed by, "no exceptions!"

Then an email stating your ban has been lifted, followed by a warning threat, which makes no sense. Very unprofessional.

Reminds me of something like, "You got off the hook this time, but we're coming for ya." Like some Boston gangster stuff from the 40s.

These are the mfs that are admins. Yikes.
