Depends what you're talking about. Most things people label as "screamo" are just any hardcore/angst sounding music. A lot of post-hardcore includes melodic and clean vocals as well. The screaming just brings a depth of emotion to some songs. You don't have to like it, but you can't say it takes no talent. There's a considerably large amount of musical genres that include screaming.

this song is about the lead vocalist and how his girlfriend of 7 years was cheating on him the whole time, and he's mad because he thinks he might have STD's and goes to get checked out, all the while raging and asking why'd it have to be him.
