IM POOR (but need a computer)

so my pet pig broke my laptop keys and yeah so i need a new computer.

i would like a "gaming" pc capable of decently playing some games. lol on medium-high settings, etc. (my ****ty hp pavilion notebook could play league medium-low settings with 100 fps). im on a tight budget because im poor and need to start saving up and have a car & insurance payment every month.

these are what ive looked at.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...HFDQ04UN&psc=1

tell me if theyre trash and gimme suggestions please.

I would like to stay between 300-700 dollars MAX, because like i cant even afford that rn. just tell me what to expect and what i should do.

I'll be honest. I'd just wait a bit till you have a bit more money. It almost seems that you're looking for a laptop that has good Ghz from your description of wanting to play most games with medium to high settings.
If i was you, I'd wait a bit until you could afford this one.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...HFDQ04UN&psc=1

It has a bit faster Ghz at 3.4 while other had 3.2 GHz, and from looks of it, It is a fairly decent gaming pc from what it seems and from what it appears should give you the desired quality you want.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...75&ignorebbr=1

This one though, If you're feeling lucky and want to save. get it, But I would be very wary of it. while it does have only a slightly lower GHz, the main issue I saw from this from the get-go is it is a refurbished product... I used to work as refurbishing, fixing and working with computers. I will tell you honestly that most refurbished products just simply aren't as good, And may have a lot of issues. When an item gets refurbished they usually just replace the parts needed and make sure it works. Which means in that refurbished laptop or pc or anything you buy refurbished, The people replacing parts may just "let" a few bad parts slip by "accident" if you know what I mean...

Though personally, I would like to remain with Razer products, i would try to save up the money so you know you could afford it.But you must have a PC screen and whatnot which i imagine you already know.

So the amazon one is good for it’s money?

There probably is even better for the price, But for the money between the two while it is more expensive it is worth it because it is new. And you wouldn't need to worry about the risk of it having had parts of running slower than told

kenthefruit 04-21-2018 08:06 PM

At this point I just need a decently nice 'gaming' computer, pc or laptop, for around 500-800 max and can play games on medium-high settings, with as good as im gonna get specs.

Those are pretty bad. You should be able to build something very adequate for within $500. Just buy the parts individually off newegg and build it yourself, trust me, it's easy and you will have so much fun doing it. Then when you're done you can say you built your own PC. It will be so much better than buying one of these. Especially the first one you linked.

For a GPU just get something like an Nvidia GTX760. They're probably less than $100. Will run GTAV in 1080p.

If you're not sure, you need these things:

-mobo
-case
-power supply
-CPU
-optional GPU
-hard drive
-RAM

that's it. if you have any hard drives or power supplies lying around you might be able to save some money. you shouldn't need to buy a third party cpu cooler if you're going with a low cost cpu. also honestly i would just go without using an optical drive because they are basically obsolete at this point. just install windows using a usb drive

kenthefruit 04-21-2018 11:02 PM

building a pc isn't really something that interests me, especially since I've been finding I can finance some computers which would be a very realistic option for me.

I just found this laptop,
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...KIKX0DER&psc=1

and would be able to finance it as well. The only thing is I have no idea if it's good or worth the price.

Building your own computer is fun, but it’s not necessarily cheaper. Manufactures have the advantage of buying parts in bulk and making it cheaper.

The quality of the parts is low. If you build your own computer you can build something better than that $700 dell, and it will cost you $500 or less. Also it won't be a Dell.

If you can swing it it's pretty good, but it's not cost effective compared to getting a desktop. Mobile versions of GPUs are not the same thing as the desktop GPU 1050ti for instance. It might not run games as well as the cheap gtx760 I was telling you about.

Why? Installing the parts is just as easy as plugging in a SNES cartridge

That's a pretty good deal IMO.

Dell recently put out a new line of laptops packing the new hex-core processors.
http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-...top/dncwgf427s

These new processors are considerably more powerful but will set you back another 300 dollars.

I personally would just save for the 1060 variation but if you really need a laptop that can pull its own weight and then some I would definitely recommend taking a look at this.

The one you picked out is pretty good but only because its on sale TBH.

Phantos 04-22-2018 10:52 PM

That amazon deal is pretty good in my opinion. You are definitely paying a premium for the convenience factor that a laptop brings (even tho it will be heavy) but that thing should game well and stay relevant in terms of power for quite some time.

That being said, don't stretch your budget too much. That is one of the cheapest gaming laptops I've ever seen but it's still a lot to chew.

kenthefruit 04-23-2018 03:07 AM

Thanks for the advice everyone! I think the amazon one would be a good option for me, I could pay it off in 5 months for $160 payments a month w/o having to apply for a credit card or anything like that either which is super realistic

Doesn’t bestbuy have those 1 year payment plans for purchases of $1000+. Would save you the interest you’re paying if the loan was a nonparent loan

I actually own this exact laptop lmao, Got it a while back. But i would highly recommend this especially if you're into gaming, It is really fast and can play almost any game i had on it at really high graphics. Though i think the best thing about it is the display is actually really pretty and gets decently bright, Makes lots of games look much nicer, keyboard is also pretty nice, Overall i never had any issues with it at all. There may be better laptops out there don't get me wrong but in my opinion it's definitely worth the money
