For me talking on a mic is too distracting unless it's a certain co-op mode such as nazi zombies or Left 4 Dead.

I need to look in to getting a new mic. I hate not being able to communicate, especially those moments where I really need to callout. But I find it really awkward when you're searching for a game that takes a while (Halo 3 lol) and no one talks, yet everyone has mics.

That's different. If they're trying to talk to me through a conversation let's say a movie then I just get really distracted. Pinpointing where the enemy team is located and planning is better and less distracting.

Agreed. I thought Halo 3 was an overall better game. It feels much more smooth and natural compared to Reach.
