Looking for tips and suggestions on a new computer mouse purchase

Title basically says it all. I am looking for a new mouse right now and preferably one that is designed more so with gaming in mind as I tend to play PC games frequently. For a mouse, I would generally like if there were one or two extra buttons on the side more or less and also I am looking for something wireless but feel free to convince me otherwise. Anywho, recently I've been looking at some steelseries mouses and I'm thinking perhaps I should get one of those or something similar.

Feel free to leave suggestions of your favourite mouse and/or ones that you would recommend. Recommendations are appreciated and I will be responding with my favourites out of the bunch as time goes on and hopefully sooner or later I'll finally make up my mind on what I want to purchase. Hopefully this thread can help out some others in a similar situation also.

The mouse I currently use is the Logitech M705.

Of all the Logitech mice I've used, its by far the most comfortable mouse and has multiple customizable buttons.

I'd say its rather affordable and has a battery life of up to 3 years which is pretty insane.

I'm currently using this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/17201151?w...867912&veh=sem

Been more than 3 years since I unboxed it and it still works fine. I can play games like Osu and such with it so I'm good.

What sort of grip do you use when holding the mouse? You'll find different mice more comfortable depending on which grip you use.

I use a Zowie FK1 and love it. It's really comfortable to hold and has great precision. It also has no drivers meaning you can just plug in and play.

Other mice I'd recommend:

For grip I'm generally good with basically any mouse as long as its not 100% hugging my hand. I feel like I lose a bit of control when that's the case, and I prefer more freedom of movement to it using my fingers. Also I'm quite liking the ideas you're posting these are the sort of things I have interest in when buying a mouse.

In that case, don't choose the mouse I suggested. Its pretty big and hugs my hand a lot. But that's really the kind of mouse I'm comfortable using since my fingers are stupidly long.

If you want something that doesn't hug your hand as much, try the Logitech M510.

Its a lot slimmer than the M705 and still has the side buttons but its about the same length and the grip feels kinda awkward, to me at least.

The length is going to settle this thing into your palm depending on how big your hands are or how longer your fingers are but that shouldn't really put you off since you don't need to move your palm that much during gaming. If anything, you need something to take the stress off your fingers and rest your palm on.

The G303 that Vendetta listed is also pretty good, my friend has one and he says its really cool. But honestly, the cost is what bothers me the most about it considering with 60 bucks you can buy an entire game.

A lot of the gaming mice Logitech make are just straight up bonkers in design. Most of them look like something out of a Transformers movie or something.

Alright so, I'm liking the options you guys are giving me but i'm still not sure if I want the mouse to be wireless.. Obviously its much easier to have a wireless mouse for freedom of movement but I'm a but stuck up on the fact that if i were to use a wired mouse that the wire would be a bit wonky as i'm using a Asus ROG g750 laptop as of now

The reason I personally would use a wired mouse is because wireless mouses drop connection(some more than others, most work 99% of the time). And I would worry about it dropping during something important, a tourney perhaps.

But if you can't play with it, don't

I think cords are a nuisance which is why I go cordless.

Crono 02-26-2016 12:21 PM

im upset logitech stopped offering the g400.

Dread 02-26-2016 10:26 PM

Alright, I've decided i'm going to get the steelseries sensei. I've basically gotten over the whole wireless thing and quite honestly, having to retrieve batteries or have my mouses connection get really wonky every now and then has been bit annoying. So, wish me luck fellas lol

I used logitech before it broke I would prefer 5hift's choice had it before it broke.

I also have that mouse and it's nice but ffs the battery is ****. It literally lasts about two days before you have to charge.

As far as connection problems it comes with an extender so you can get the dongle closer. Never had reliability or delays with it.

Seriously?

That sucks. I have literally never touched the battery on mine and it still works.
