Alien: Covenant

For me, I am pretty excited for this. It is supposed to be a sequel to Prometheus and takes place before the events of the original movie, Alien.

Does anyone have any thoughts opinions on this yet? Do you think it will flop like Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection? But so far it looks pretty interesting and I hope they look more into the Engineers and all. It is set to release on May 19, 2017.

Here is the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svnAD0TApb8

The cgi looks way too fake in my opinion

Doesn't look too bad.

Ridley Scott's taking the reigns again so that's good news.

I agree. It definitely won't flop, but the CGI better be top notch. Tired of seeing visibly fake CGI in movies.

CG always looks way worse in trailers than in the final product. It was top notch in Prometheus, so I'd give it the benefit of the doubt.

Eh, if that was the case then they'd be really stupid for making their trailer look worse than the movie since that's supposed to bring people in.
If anything the reason you can ignore the cgi in the movie itself is because you'd be caught up in the story so don't focus on all the details.

Personally for me it's an instant no if there's bad cgi which is the case for this movie (story doesn't seem interesting either to me tho although that'd be okay if it was actually scary somehow)

I never watched the series and i have no knowledge of it. But it just triggers me so much about the fact that the humans are on an ALIEN PLANET and expect not to get killed or anything

The main complaint with the Alien series is that whatever is shown, has already been seen... nothing really new is coming from it, its just another movie that is using the same theme.
Still going to watch it :)

Well it's how it often goes, lol

Most of the Alien movies they don't even know there is other life out there, but they always find something and mess with it and boom, they all get f*****. But I really hope they don't use the same formula where it's just them being hunted down one by one, and then one gets away. I hope they go more into the origins and all that shiz.
