Bug Net Changed

I’m guessing Dusty and Coco have been thoroughly enjoying the new Animal Crossing game haha. The net now allows you to charge and release it; much similar to the animal crossing games.

Edit: you can also walk while charging the net, but you cannot change which way you are facing.

The bug net rework apparently isn’t the only new thing, I’ve seen players selling strange new looking bugs. Is this a bug hunting system rework? If so, I’m hyped

Its not really a rework. Theres just a new mechanic and a handful of new bugs.

I'm excited. Won't be as frustrating to try and catch bugs, now.

I saw one dude showing off what looked to be a skeleton-type white spider, and I'm excited to find more. Wonder if we'll get to see if there's info on them like at the library.

Yes, from the picture in the news, it's a silhouette of a bug traversing in a little water pit. A bug that prefers watery habitats, interesting. Water spider?

Update: I found the Water Strider, or Pondskimmer. Prefers watery areas, so far only found them in the little cave ponds.

Update again: Hiro Graal made a video showcasing the new Net mechanics as well as all 5 new bugs and where they can be found.

https://youtu.be/tZRXTyABcNI

Pondskimmer: Ponds/Puddles in caves primarily, but can be found in almost any small puddle of water, like the puddles in Swamp Town. They are capable of traversing over open water to avoid players, making them tedious to catch. They cannot leave puddles that you find them in. Too many failed attempts of catching and they will despawn. They're very fast, and moderately difficult to catch. Common, Worth 14g.

Silverfish: Crawls around any bookshelf you could find in game. They are theoretically the most difficult bug to catch, as you have only one chance to catch them, they also move side to side frequently. If you fail, they will burrow into the books, not to be seen again until another spawns. Rare, Worth 16g.

Cicada: Can be found near any tree in the game that you can walk under, except Snow Town trees. Similar mechanics to the Mantis, it can only be on its habitat, which is trees. There is only one way to catch them, and that is to face upward toward the tree. If you fail to catch one the first time, they will fly left or right to an adjacent tree. Easy to catch, as they do not move unless startled by a netting attempt. Uncommon, Worth 18g.

Arctic Spider: Can be found ANYWHERE in Snowtown, inside buildings as well as outside. They roam around the ground, moving faster and away from players upon failed netting attempts. Uncommon, Worth 20g.

Centipede: The most valuable new bug on the list, as well as the biggest in the game. Akin to bees, it can ONLY be found by picking up vases and ridding them of their home. One or two may spawn from a vace, and will roam the ground aimlessly like a cockroach. They will not hurt or chase a player. Very Rare, Worth 28g.

Bummer, I was hoping for rather a new bug hunting system with more rewards and more possibilities. I’ll take the new bugs, I guess.
