Should I fix my phone's screen?

Recently, my phone's screen had just suddenly begun to not work. It's not cracked, but it does have those white lines when I go to turn it on (similar to this.
It's an iPhone 5C, so of course it will cost $100AUD for the screen to be replaced (that's what my parents told me), and the screen has already been cracked once before.
The only data I want from my phone are my photos which haven't been backed up. Meaning, I may be better off getting a new phone.
If I were to get a new phone, what should I get? The cost doesn't matter, and I would prefer something that has a good design and interface (ie similar to the iPhone).

How badly is your phone's screen cracked?

If its a small non-intrusive mark then don't even think about getting it fixed/replaced.

Now, if its broken to the point the screen is unusable and beyond repair then go get yourself a new phone.

Now I would recommend getting another Apple phone but this time try taking some extra precautions when handling it.

Get yourself a good protective case and screen protectors.

I myself have had my iPhone 5c since last winter and it's in pretty good condition with minimal marking and no cracks.

You can still get the data, just plug it into your PC.

And I'd recommend a galaxy, honestly any Android.

Nevermind, it's been fixed! Thank you for your answers!
But on the topic, are galaxies better than iPhones? I've never had an android.

I would definitely recommend a Galaxy over an iPhone, there's a lot more you can do with it, and it's got a good size!
