Gaming laptops are like glass cannons.
Powerful, yet very fragile.

It is highly suggested to get a gaming PC instead.

Where the hell did you get powerful from?

Not gonna lie, I bought a second hand 2012 i7 MacBook Pro and it does the trick. I paid $400.

I'd imagine this would work

Spoiler
For comparison I used to play CS:GO on this

Although not actively. Mainly used it for WoW and ESO.

Something cheaper

I highly doubt it could run GoW4 though so ignore that.

This is the one I use.

https://www.amazon.com/HP-15-au010wm.../dp/B01JAUAMQM

Intel i7 6th gen.
Nvidia GeForce 950mx (IMO the best GPU you can get at this price range.)
1TB HDD
You can always add an SSD by replacing the disc drive with one of those HDD/SSD caddies.

The only downside to this laptop is the resolution isn't very good.

But it's pretty powerful. It can definitly run CS with no problems. I mean CS isn't a super resource heavy game I got like a stable 50 FPS on an older HP laptop with an i3 processer and no GPU.

Also if you do ever plan on getting some new games that are more hardware intensive, I HIGHLY reccomend that you get a cooling pad.

Don't think I'll ever buy HP again...

Also in your title you say you can go over 600 but in your post you say it's your max.

ik i realized that lol

I get around 60+ FPS when running Warframe at medium settings which is pretty well optimized but still pretty hardware intensive.

For games like Titanfall 2, I think I stay around 60ish FPS when running on all low settings although I do have the FPS capped at around 70. The relatively low resolution may make everything look pretty bad but its playable at least. I guess for games like Overwatch, that doesn't really matter.

These games really heat up my laptop so definitely get a cooling pad. Here's the one I use: https://www.amazon.com/Mobility-Lapt...op+cooling+pad

are you talking about the laptop you posted above? if so i might take it into consideration

5hift 05-26-2017 10:14 PM

Yep. Its a pretty solid laptop for the price.

The problem is it may be sold out depending on where you buy it.

Yeah HP laptops are pretty good, just they can have some problems down the road like my first laptop was the Pavilion G6 and I loved that thing to death. Just it would get a black screen issue and sometimes it would freeze up every now and then, but it really depends on the model plus that was like 4 years ago when I started College so they are really improved now. I would go with 5hift on his recommendation.
