Is Graal going to shut down in 2020?
 

So, I've seen things other places like adobe flash is gonna shut down in 2020, it'll be gone, but sometimes when I use chrome for graal it's like oh use adobe flash!!!! *insert lenny face here* so I have to use Internet Explorer :( Anyway, so, that just shows graal runs on flash so, if it does, will Graal shut down? Will our lives be ruined but being cut off from the online graal world? Will we never see each other again? Is before 2020 the last time we'll ever talk? Put your answer and thoughts here.

No, it's not going to shut down. Graal only uses flash for the in-browser clients.

Huh, you just have to manually enable Flash on the website and it'll run on Chrome.

Adobe flash is going to be stopped in updates and so on, This does not mean you will not be able to play graal on PC after 2020. Flash is only going to be stopped in being redistributed and updated. This won't stop you from playing graal on flash if you already have it. Even if Google stops enabling support you can always just use an older version of chrome. Plus graal just make a steam version of classic if for some reason they cant make graal work on the website anymore(Which i would be happy for anyway).

A large amount of the playerbase is using the web client so it's very unlikely they'd stop supporting it. Unity WebGL is the most likely solution.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was already in the works honestly.

Unfortunately it's not as simple as 'Lets put Graal up on Steam today'. Steam usually takes 30% cut from all purchases through the game which would mean a complete rework on how Gralats are purchased as well as subscriptions. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it sure would be a lot of work!

A Steam version of Graal was something PC players were asking for before mobile ever existed.

Development of Graal is essentially non-existent. At this point I would say the new Unity client is nothing but vaporware, and nothing will change my mind on that front until it is actually released to the public.

Graal doesn't really need a steam version, just need updates at client and boom

I should add to my initial post that even though Flash support ends in 2020, it just means Flash is no longer going to be updated. You will still be able to use it.

I hope i don't like pc sparrers I might actually spar if they all aren't allowed anymore

You will still be able to use flash after support for it ends. I do not know what the browser client will run on in the future, but I know there are plenty of options.

Why is classic not on Graal PC client? I heard it used to be super smooth when it was on it (before it was added to the app store)
Like do they not already know running it on a browser is worse than running it on a pc client? The good browsers wont support flash anymore so even if there is other options the game is going to get worse.

From what I know, iClassic on the PC client is only built for staff to log onto. There's a lot of permissions/administration work that would need to be done to allow regular players to play on it.
