Poor hiring method
1. Admins selecting players
This is just a bad idea in general, staff really isgonna pick the people they know well, no one else. I wouldn't expect them to do different as to really make a decision on hiring some random player they'd have to stalk him all night and day to get a good idea of his true character, thank that's not time efficient. 2. Over world Spam Believe it or not players believe if a staff member sees them answering questions they will look like a better choice for staff and get hired. So now we can have the overworked ****covered with idiots "answering questions" which to some extent is spam. 3. Is this even true For some reason I think this is just some bull**** scheme to make iEra players "play nice" with the hope they might be hired. It really seems sketchy to me and I'd like to know if era is gonna make a giant idiot move. /angry rant |
The PRA isn't really selecting the players spamming "PM ME IF YOU NEED HELP" or whatever. It is still better than checking all the emails which is taking a crapload of time and probably aren't even true.
If you have any better suggestion feel free to tell it. |

The PRAs will be selecting some of the top canidates based off of the other staff's recommendations. I, for one, just finished my recommendations and I recommended players whom I don't necessarily know that well but have proven themselves to me to be capable of the position. Also my recommendees aren't that well known on iEra so you can't also argue that its's just a popularity contest.

I thouhght this thread was for poor's hiring method (Poorface's hiring method)
|
I think top 9 players with most hours should take a vote on who should be hired.
that might be a good picture |
Your probably the ninth most houred person
|
I've finished my three recommendations. Only one of my recommendations was someone I personally knew really well, the other two are people I've seen demonstrating good qualities throughout iEra and Graalians.

- Isn't taking part in recommendations aside from counter arguments-
I don't approve of the annoucement that was made to players in regards to the hiring, it should have all been done without their knowledge. |

When they see Reno on the top everyone's jump at me. "2+2+2x0=?" they respond "0" xD |
The funny thing is that the average player doesn't even know Graalians.com exists.
|
Lol, Just respect their dicision and go with the flow who know's you could be a reconmedation :P
Brought to you by: Lucero's Chocolate :D |
But one of the things I don't understand is, how? How do the staff judge? Personally, no-one chats to me, but my pm history couldn't be busier with people randomly pming me. It's a little unfair if you're been a nice person, but the staff can't see that because you don't chat. What I said is a little un-clear, but I'm sure you understand where I'm coming from.

Evilxhunter will make a good pr. I think this system worked out nicely.

We still use them as some sort of basis when checking out the candidates however. So it's not like we made them entirely redundant. Probably a little more bias, but more likely to find good PR's rather than children. |
Dont forget the classic: "HIRE EVERYONE IN THE STAFF GUILDS!!!!!"

But, what if no-one talks to you? That could be un-fair :P

admins select the possible admins, the 9 players vote on who is hired. i picked nine because you can only split up nine 9 times without decimals. so if there is 2 people selected they can not both get equal scores. i bolded so i wouldnt start a flamewar. |
I too didn't recommend anyone, but I did leave my opinions for those that were recommended.
I will say, if you are a mature and good player, you will get noticed eventually...especially if you are always respectful/well liked within the community. Trust me, we notice rude/impatient players instantly..first impressions count. I will also say the following will pretty much not help you at all: 1) Having a bad reputation/broken severe rules in the past 2) Having players vote for you to be staff 3) Answering Graal related questions at start 4) Spamming staff or constantly asking staff how much you want to be staff 5) Sucking up to staff, having poor grammar/professionalism, having poor knowledge of the game/computer IT |

A staff member wouldn't be friends with a guy with low grammar, immature and has done several problems in the past. Besides the people that are known' are the people who are known for there gratitude. |
Internal Hirings?

I really haven't read the whole thread but, I've taken a look over the application they use for hiring and its a standard psychological evaluation. I've actually filled out one that was for a previous job I held. Unfortunately, a lot of companies are using this to hire people now a days
|
People hire by getting their friends hired, works irl, can work on here! :p
