Gnome Quest???
2 Attachment(s)
Hello, today I was on Classic and noticed something that lead to another.
Below is an attached image showing maybe a quest that could be coming to Classic. Sorry to leak, if you have information on this please post. Image 1. A Gnome Cave where the Gnomes live. Image 2. Stefans house, has a book which says about the Gnomes leading to image 3. Image 3. The Gnomes know how to make a Special Hammer, this may be obtained in the quest. Image 4. Shows another Gnome cave this maybe where you can get the hammer. My last attached image shows what you may do for the quest, as there is a kid who misses his mom and dad, maybe you have to find them or something. Please leave your views and information you may have on this. |
Brilliant.

Gnome caves, as far as I know, are the mines that are located above Swamp Town. That entrance is locked though, and the other entrance in Swamp Town itself is blocked by stakes.

Nice research, but you missed a piece of info.
In the bank a book says that gnomes collected tears. |
Everything in this thread is relevant aside from #4 in your first screenshot, that's something else. Nice detective work!

Thanks :)

This quest has existed since (according to my brother) 1999. Google it and you'll find a walkthrough. Why staff is so against rescripting these quests which are already made and releasing them for iClassic is beyond me. Also, the gnome stuff in swamp was added months ago. It should not take months to release one quest that has been in existence for well over a decade.

It does not take six-plus months to rescript things. You're a joke! The lack of quests and other things to do is killing this server. |

The fact that versions of the gnome quest has existed at once point or another in the past has absolutely no bearing on whether it should exist now. Also, you assume it would even be worth rescripting and porting over. You seemed to have failed to grasp that the current iClassic is not tailored at all towards questing. There are no questing items, there are no quests, and the overworld is not designed for progression. Hell, there aren't even any hp/damage powerups. Adding a single quest changes all of that. Then there's also the question as to whether or not adding this quest would even have much benefit. They're one-time things. People do the quest once and then it's never revisited again. This is further compacted with the above points taken into consideration where there's no reason to backtrack and explore with new items. To overhaul the entire server to be more quest-oriented would be way more than a "few weeks" of scripting. I mean, have you even played the quests? You see a few screenshots and you assume it's decent content, and I hate to burst your bubble but most of the quests from old Classic quests were pretty damn bad. Now, all of this is coming from someone who is a huge supporter of not only questing, but designing quests. iClassic has taken a step back and realized that in the end what made all variations of Classic in the past replayable were not quests and content, but in fact the social aspect, pk/sparring, and item collecting. These are what players always came back for. Most of the time you end up with a ****load of stuff in your inventory from all the various quests and you never even use it. Also take into consideration how much more time it takes to not only develop quests, but to design them. It's a very time-consuming process with very little payout. On the other hand focusing on aspects that provide more replayability, like the aforementioned social stuff, takes much less effort and gives players more "bang for their buck." Quote:

Don't ever think iClassic will be like Classic PC or original Classic. They're in way too deep to rewrite systems and prepare the overworld for questing. Stephane Portha and Xor don't give single **** about quests, all they care about is you staying on the game and making them money. They know if something big was to be added we'd enjoy it and then be the same begging assholes and say more stuff needs to be added. If one quest was added then hundreds more would have to follow up. People like Dusty and Rufus who have truly love the game will try their best to make the expierence somewhat better for us without XOR getting angry that money is too easy to get or prices are too low.

Pachuka, the legendary one of mischief, played a venomously harsh trick (involving mortals being slaughtered) on Hera (legendary one of life and emotions) and made her run away crying, feeling empathy for the poor mortals and their fragile limited life, her tears plummeted to the ground, turning into strange gems as they sparkled in the sunlight....
translation for the less intelligent: "daamn Pachuka, yo bitchslapped dat ho Hera so hard her tears turned ta bling-bling!" |
Don't you find those tears on classic PC?
Classic PC makes me sad on how much us iOS players are missing out on. |

seriously, just shut up or youll be trolled on every thread and harrassed till you quit, the fate of idiots on this forum. no tolerance. first off, dusty has done alot for graal pc and subsequently graal iphone, he has done way more work than you have, heck, ive done more for the server than you have. you want a better game? get to work. learn to lat, be able to use the level editor if you arent stuck on a stupid mac like i am, im jealous that pc users are able to use the level editor, i cant because im on a mac, all the solutions are way too complex and ineffective, because stefan wont make a mac version for the level editor. be happy you have the opportunity to lat and use graalshop, dont just bad mouth staff and do nothing. |

You literally cannot run the programs neccessary to make levels or ganis with a Mac, I've looked, all solutions were complex, unnecessary, and in some cases expensive programs, there is not way to just convert programs, and even if I could, who knows how that would limit or cause problems with the programs with uploading and saving and setting tilesets and stuff, And quite frankly, its more of Stefan's fault for not making a version that both Mac and windows can use or a seperate Mac version, not my fault that I am one of the many people that bought a Mac. |
