What really annoys me about most staff!
 

In staff's status they normally say things like "Any questions? Shoot me a pm!" and you might spend ages on a really reasonable, genuine question and you are greeted by the message "Your message has not been sent because _ _ _ _ _ allows pm's from friends only!"

Have you ever came accross this?

They're not supposed to have friends only for pms on. Especially with that kind of status.

or "The messaged player logged off" when they're online on friends list

That message is when a staff member is using the Remote Control program and aren't actually on player in-game.

I hate it when they just don't answer.

I can imagine the amount of spam and arbitrary questions an admin receives is substantial, however they should put up with it rather than ignoring pm's altogether.

Yeah, that happens to me too. Especially when I actually do need help.

I don't recall being helped by a GP when I've asked for help.

Maybe it could be hidden when the staff is just on RC on iEra and iClassic.

Because it's not that easy to do it. You can feel free to go into GS2 scripting and do that your own rather than just complaining.

I almost never need assistance from an admin for anything (I don't even know who's an admin anymore which also contributes to that), but I did have a question and asked Flo and he responded within a reasonable amount of time.

They have definitely gotten better at that than when I can remember during my few years playing.

This is an issue, I agree. What can you do about it though? Admins are busy as far as I know, and they must do their jobs. If they are assigned to something, they must fulfill this assignment. An Admin taking the time to answer questions is rare, and they should only have those things in their status at the times that they are available to answer questions. Again, what can you do about it?

You assume this can be fixed with simple GS2, and even if it could no one could be able to provide a remedy when the actual scripts involved are unknown.

I'd prefer to just keep receiving messages in game. I wouldn't like it if they added a pm section to the rc.

Because he is a developer and developers only need RC open most of the time...

I had the idea of making a new tab in the external RC where your PMs would be shown in. We can already send PMs through a RC command so it shouldn't be such a problem. I might mess around with that on the iEra dev server sometime. Also I never said it could be done with easy GS2, else it would have probably been done a long time ago.
What I wanted to say was that instead of having him say that everything is so easy, he should try to learn GS2 on his own, get better and have a random chance at getting hired. Than he can fix the stuff

The only person who has ever helped me was Vyse, Arch, and Gbaby. Trust me.. I have sent numerous PM's to ALOT of GP's (on their admin and ipod accounts) when I have needed help with stuff like glitchers, hackers, and lag-blockers at forts. Seriously, what is more importand to do as graal police than keep hackers/glitchers away from disrupting towers and spar... That's actually disrupting and ruining the fun for regular players. Instead they go around banning noobs in graal city who say bad words and spam.

I hate it when an admin renames my gang to "justinbiebers" and jails me for three hours without warning, and then daring to say it wasn't power abuse.

Your gang name was changed because it was inappropriate. Just be thankful it wasn't deleted. Now stop complaining about it on every thread.

If you don't know what you're talking about for 100%, don't reply. It kind of get's annoying that every time I post something like this I have to correct them... You think I have never reported? Fools, I tell my entire guild to report someone whenever I have seen a hacker. It has only worked once, and I have done it bazilikions of times. And yes, i report everytime as well as send a pm.

If people are apart of the developers i understand but if they are graal police why have friends only on its there job to help with player issues and keep the communitie safe and enforce the rules.So why do they have pms friends only?0.0

It's true. GP's are useless. They have never once helped us with a hacker or glitcher at our forts.

But if you get mad about it and, for example, put "FIRE [STAFF MEMBER]" in your nick name, they will take immediate action and either warn or ban you for "offensive nick name / harassing staff."

Fire all GP's and start anew.

Ken is correct we always REPORT the hackers and glitchers and nothing ever happens, also we don't spam them via pm. At least I do not; I find it pointless to do so as all the GP's I've ever desperately needed assistance from, had pm's from friends enabled. Moreover, it seems like GP's should be on patrol at towers most of the time. That is were mostly all the hacking/glitching and all around rule breaking takes place. I would like to think that a person that is costing an entire guild a tower via malicious and illegal tactics would take precedence over say a noob using foul language in public. However, it is the latter which I have witnessed the most of.

GPs get hired because they're friends of whoever is doing the hiring. it's always been that way on Graal as a whole. it seems it's spread over into iPhone as well.

Well even though I'm a developer on iEra, but I got hired without knowing anyone. I just knew layerd a little bit and snk and me knew each other a little bit :P

On the GP application:

"what guilds have you joined and what ranks have you held in them"

I don't even get how this question is significant for the application.

I'm sure they'd much rather somebody with the experience of being a leader in say, VG, to somebody who has no experience having any sort of power and respect like that. I'm sure that question has absolutely nothing to do with admin favouritism.

Going to change my mind on this one, I think I'd have to agree with you. They also ask what guild you owned, I guess its a 'leadership' kind of thing.

The only way I see this question being relevant is if admins want to see what kind of leadership qualities one possesses. For example, didn't the leader of Venus Gospel become an admin? I'm sure it isn't a huge determining factor, however being leader of a major tower taking guild could show your ability to manage and organize.

Aster has also been known very well, has been the leader of the best guild on iClassic, was in an in-Game relationship with Julius who just got GPA and has always been liked by the staff.

Aka favoritism and fame, that's right kids, it's not who is best for the job, it's who you know and whether you are the owner of a major tower guild that did nothing for the server other than monopolize tower taking. YAY!
